Riley Clark:
Today is the first day of senior year, which I'm sure everyone is excited about. I'm not. Today started off shit as usual, I woke up at 6:30 am seeing that the sun is just now starting to rise. As I step out of bed I feel a wet sensation on my foot, great my cat pissed on the floor... again.
I don't have that long to get ready so I leave my hair down, throw on my baggy jeans and some converse. As I run through my house I grab a piece of toast from my brother Leo and walk out the door. I fling my car keys around one of my fingers waiting for Leo to get in the car. As Leo approaches he throws his backpack in the back of our old Toyota Camry. The rest of the way to school Leo and I sang at the top of our lungs, smiling and laughing.
School wasn't too bad today, but it wasn't any better than it usually was. I just went to my classes minding my own business, it's not like I have anyone to talk to anyway. I was just excited for 6th hour because not only was that the last hour of the school day but it also meant I had art. I've been taking art classes for years, I guess it's kind of my thing, just like how soccer is to Leo.
After school was over I sit on the bleachers near the soccer field waiting for Leo's soccer practice to be over, and brainstorm what I should do for my art project.
When Leo and I get home we walk through the door yelling "hunny I'm home!", mom already had dinner done so we hurried and sat down with her, dad was probably on another business trip as usual. After I helped mom wash the dishes I went up to my room and started some sketches for my art project. Before I took a shower I decided to sit outside my window and watch the sun set over the field that is my backyard.
We have a lot of forests around the town we live in, and a pretty big one was in the farthest corner of our property, I haven't gone back there in quite some time, maybe even since I was a kid. But as I'm sitting out here on the roof I see something out of the ordinary, a figure in the woods.
