Lately they had been sending each others work. His stories . Her paintings. They soon knew each other's name

Stephanie

I lay down looking at the ceiling feeling empty as ever wondering what the future held for me. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard a knock on my window

"Flynn?"

" Hey"

" What are you doing here it's almost one the morning?"

" I couldn't sleep , I'm a bit of insomniac." he said

" Me too"

" Would you like to join me on a midnight walk?" he asked

I wanted to say no but then I realised I couldn't sleep and I was bored

"Okay, fine"

We started walking under the gaze of the stars and sat on a hill watching the stars .

" Can I ask you a question, Stephanie?" He asked

" Sure"

" You always look empty , why so?"

I close my eyes and reopen it feeling better

" When I was eleven my parents left me behind under a guardian. To study, I never saw them since. They just .... left, they rarely call me and my guardians don't even care about me they don't care if there is food in the house and I don't even think they paid my school fees last semester_"

"Stephanie,"he cut me off but I continued "I feel unwanted Flynn, everywhere I go I don't belong anywhere. I feel alone" she said." You know, you are not alone. You just need to look around you. You have me" he said
I couldn't make eye contact with him. I couldn't let him in." Look," he points to the sky" you see that star, it is you, you're apart from the others thinking that you're alone but you're not , you just have to let others in."

Before I knew it his lips where touching mine. I realised I was kissing him back , I quickly pulled away and ran off. I could hear him calling me but I ignored him. I arrived home crying at my inability of letting him in. I couldn't help it. It was an instinct that  told me to push him away. My parents just left they don't care. Nobody cares so why would he care.
