He,
dressed in the colors of the night sky, as he stood above her, he looked like a mythical creature straight from some fantasy book. His eyes, two black rubies, glistened wildly looking at her in despair and terror. It was the first time she had seen such a look on him.
She wanted to tell him that everything would be fine, but her lips did not obey her as if a heavy blanket silenced them. She saw his own shaking non-stop and yet no sound coming out of them.
Maybe it's better this way, so she thought and tried to raise her hand to wipe the tears from his cheeks, again to no avail as her mind and body had been disconnected for quite some time now.
She hoped that maybe he was reading her eyes, the words "I love you" that she was shouting from inside her. Suddenly His tears multiplied and his body began to tremble loudly and yet, she smiled looking at him. She smiled because he did read her eyes. She was able to remind him one last time how much she loved him.
The abyss began to swallow her faster, and just before it got dark she could finally hear for the last time his voice calling her,
"Vanessa ...""P.Che ... P.Che wake up" her mother shouted loudly. She still could not process what was happening around her, everything was just ringing in her ears.
Her heart was beating so hard that you would think it would soon come out of her. The thing was that she had not seen a nightmare. To be precise, she herself could not understand the cause of the increase in her pulses and the stings she felt.
She put her hand on her doll to check if she was sick but she was not hot, on the contrary she felt cold. A wave of shiver ran through her, and immediately after that came the tendency to vomit. She ran to the bathroom and took out everything she had eaten last night. Wiping her mouth with her hand, she sat on the floor for a few minutes, while tears began to flow.
The gap in her chest seemed heavier than ever.
"Hey, did you wake up?" Her moms voice was heard outside of her door.
"Yes, I am in the bathroom" she got up from the floor and looked at herself in the mirror. Like a real ghost, she thought giving her reflection a look of disgust as she wiped her tears away. Quickly she put something on her and went out of her room.
Going down the stairs she stopped for a while observing the frames on the wall. Photos from her family and herself, a total of three in number hanging there. You will usually see a lot of photos hanging on the walls in other houses either from family vacations or family tables, but such activities in this particular house were simply unheard of. There was no money for such a thing, not even the mood.
"Baby come down to eat something before you leave "
She turned her head and continued down the stairs .As soon as she entered the kitchen she was caught by the smell off freshly cooked eggs.
"Eat, you look tired" her mother commented as she laid the eggs in the plate in front of her. She answered her with a simple nod.
I feel really tired.
She tried to chase away her thoughts as she put the first bite in her mouth.
"You were screaming last night. " her moms voice was heard again.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I came to check at you but as soon as I opened the door you calmed down. Nightmares?" she wonders checking P.Che's face with her hand.
"Probably but i do not remember anything." She explain to her as she pulls away, not wanting to continue the conversation or the eye contact.
"What happens at night, better stay there"
"That's why you never let me describe to you the dreams I have, isn't it ?." P.Che commented laughing knowing how serious she takes such silly things .
"I told you not to pay attention to them" she scolds her
"Okay, okay it's time for me to leave already ," after leaving her plate in the sink she heads to the door.
Passing through the living room to get her bag she found her father watching TV. Although their eyes met, neither of them said a word, so taking the bag on her shoulder She left.
A few steps later, away from that house she finally felt she could breathe again.
Suddenly as she was walking a hand wrapped around her shoulders. Turning to see who it belongs to her eyes met Amelia.
"Scared ya?" she giggles leaving a kiss in P.Che's cheek.
"Good morning to you too Amy." She returns the kiss smiling.
"I feel like I gained weight again, and it's your fault "
"How is that my fault?" She gasped.
"Who keeps asking us to go get cheeseburgers from Mac Donald's ?"
"You." She called her out.
"Besides that, we have to start a diet" everybody knows that whenever Amy feels that she is on tight spot she simply changes the subject of the conversation.
"Start on your own! Do not involve me in your satanic plans please."
"Oh come on, where's the fun in that?"
"I hate you."
"I know you love me"
"Nop"
"I'm totally your favorite"
"No you're not"
"Yes I am"
"Okay yeah you are my favorite." She says in defeat rolling her eyes.
"I better be"
"But still I'm so not gonna go on a diet with you, beside the point you look amazing so please shut up"
And before she could response P.Che gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"I'm gonna see you after class, If I survive." She points out and walk away laughing.
Amy always managed to make things seems a little bit better, a little bit happier. This was something that P.Che always admired about her and also envied from time to time.
I'm lucky that I have her, she thought and went on her classroom.
A few hours later she finds herself walking home after a long day and each step seems heavier than the other. Unfortunately for her the moment she was left alone with her thoughts it was inevitable to not bring to her mind the dream she saw.
Was this the fourth time?
She continued to see the same thing repeatedly every night for the last four days. The only differences between her dreams was that as the days went by the images became clearer.
In the beginning all she could distinguish were blurry figures and hear distant voices. But today it was different, today it felt so true that scared the crap out of her.
His image was engraved in her mind.
