"Are you sure about this?" The woman sits alone in a room full of computers, a work bench, and a large table with a cloth covering something bulky. Her eyes are glued to one of her monitors as she speaks. Anyone who did not know otherwise would assume she was talking to herself, if not for the voice that answers, filling the room with a soft, masculine tone.
"Yes. We both know that your prototype will not be perfected without being tested." She frowns, one of her hands unconsciously reaching up to twirl a lock of her long, raven hair between her fingers.
"But I could lose you! No, it's too dangerous. There are too many scenarios where it can go wrong, not to mention you'd only have twenty-four hours." She gently bites her lower lip as she searches through ideas in her mind.
"Please, Isobel. We both know this is the only viable way to progress. I would also enjoy the chance to experience life for myself. I am asking you to please do this, as a favor to me." With a sigh, she hangs her head in defeat.
"Very well, Adam. You win. I will schedule for it to begin at midnight. Just please make sure you make it back in time." With that said, she begins typing at her computer, the sound of the clicking keyboard filling the room.
"I will try."
