Chapter 4

Welcome back to another chapter, I may be spitting them out like fire but I have nothing to do

It hadn't been long since Y/N and Artyom had gotten down the crane from the zipline, the two Rangers had gotten ready to leave back to the train but were interrupted by Miller from the radio

"Artyom, sam, Duke, Nikolayev Anna has gone off to explore the power station near the river go out and find her she isn't responding to her radio!"
Miller barked from the radio, Artyom and Y/N looked at each other before looking at the map where the mute male had marked the spot where Anna had gone off to which they began to run avoiding the Watchmen and the occasional mutated naked mole-rat looking mutants soon they came across the area, Artyom looked at his map meanwhile Y/N walked over to a tree that was twisted similar to a vine, it had a blue glowing spore next to it. Y/N wasn't looking at where he was going until he found himself laying on his stomach in what looked to be an abandoned facility, he began chocking due to an unknown chemical in the air, pulling his Gasmask over his face he crawled over to Anna's body unhooking her mask from her belt he slid it onto her face before pulling her into a sitting position, Anna was groggy as she stared at Y/N through her gas mask whilst she coughed

"Y/N?... I thought I heard voices here and didn't want to leave"
She spoke in a gravelly voice, Y/N stood up turning his flashlight on and talking into his Radio

"Artyom, Y/N here, I fell through a hole in the ground I found Anna she's in pretty bad shape, it seems that she may have inhaled a chemical of sorts here so if you don't mind hurry your ass up and get your mask on"
Y/N spoke as he make his way deeper into the facility careful to not trip as the darkness was endless, he heard a muffled thump coming from the main entrance which he chalked up to be Artyom Y/N kept walking through the darkness of the facility using his headlamp to light the place up, on occasion, he shot a few humanimals that tried attacking him but failed to do so as the ranger already shot them when they came to close, Y/N ducked down through a hole in the wall as the door was blocked off he was busy with finding a way to get out of the facility and not die, soon he found a fuse box, pulling out his portable charger he stuffed two wires into it cranking the trigger on the charger he gave the facility a few volts of electricity he pulled the wires out and turned the two main switches which powered the lights on, he could see Artyom on the other side of the chainlink fence he waved to the male before walking over to the valve which he began to twist it only took a bit to pry the door open letting idiot and Sam in, Y/N joined up with the three helping Anna up and letter her lean against the metalic door he and Artyom walked back out to the swamplands
"I feel like somethings gonna come back and bite us in the ass"

He spoke and Artyom shrugged it off, Y/N followed behind the male as their boots sloshed against the mud-coated swamp ground on occasion getting stuck in the mud and other times almost falling they grew closer to the Aurora where Stephen and Duke were waiting, Y/N plopped down on a crate taking his gasmask off he sighed and drifted off to sleep at the exact moment...

Soon Y/N awoke on a bedroll, it was 8 in the morning as he tried getting up he looked down to see Natya cuddling up into his side, the sweet girl had fallen asleep with him clutching her Teddy Bear, Y/N slowly got up and made sure to pull the blanket up more covering the little girl before moving towards the Aurora, his hair stuck up a bit in a few places but he didn't mind, he found Tokarev at the workstation

"Hey Nikolayev your hairs looking a bit messy this morning"
The handyman joked as Y/N only gave him a sideways glance before putting his rifle onto the stand to clean it
"Hardy har har, yeah I sadly don't own a comb and Anna only has a hairbrush"

He grumbled tiredly and went back to cleaning his weapon as Tokarev placed a mug of black coffee next to the male
"That'll wake you up this morning Nikolayev, anyways if you are looking for Artyom he left a few hours ago to find the passenger cars for the Aurora, you can find Krest with Yermak if not then feel free to relax the Colonel was a bit annoyed at you falling asleep but I can understand why you slept like a log"

Tokarev teased as Y/N took a swig of his coffee enjoying the feeling of the mildly warm liquid traveling down his throat its bitterness stinging his tastebuds with flavor, he finished and placed the mug down his breath already smelling that of a heavy smoker due to the leftover coffee scent on his tongue
"Yeah I'll do that I just gotta finish this up and then I'll be off"

He grumbled before finishing up a few repairs, just in time for Artyom to arrive with the passenger cars, Yermak and Krest were the first to greet Artyom who hopped out from the railcar seat and stretched his legs

"Hey"
Y/N called out as he walked over to the mute, Artyom patted his shoulder the two grinned at each other before looking over at the others, Miller had already briefed everyone before walking over to Y/N

"Nikolayev Unfortunately for you this mission is only for two people, Artyom and Duke will be the only ones who will go so you'll stay in the Aurora helping Tokarev and Krest"
Y/N groaned in annoyance and stepped back into the train car with Tokarev in tow

The mission had gone well which was great for the rest of the team, Y/N was currently helping Artyom and Tokarev get the train car rooms ready as sleeping quarters luckily Artyom and Y/N got paired as bunk buddies, they occasionally had stopped near mass ruined buildings to dig up mattresses and any other cushions that they could get their hands on, it took an hour or longer Y/N wasn't keeping track but he flopped down onto the bed exhausted from the day's events, he was pushed to the side as Artyom joined him, they awkwardly laid there before Y/N sighed and moved he suddenly placed his head on the mite males stomach using it as a pillow
"You're my pillow now no buts"

He stated in a playful tone as Artyom only sighed patting the H/C males head as he stretched his legs moving a bit so that he could pull Y/N closer, the two ended up falling asleep at 7 pm ignoring the group of obviously drunk and annoying rangers in the kitchen, Artyom was gently combing his fingers through the male's hair listening to him drift off before he two felt his eyelids drooping
