You and your friend walk on a grass field. You raise your arms up to feel the fresh breeze passing by, he glances at you and smiles. "Ahhh I don't regret coming here!" You screamed as you twirl around while your gentle feet tap on the grass field and the breeze twirls with you. While you were occupied, your friend kept his hands in his pockets from his jeans. He stared at you, your beautiful smile, it reminded him of his memories of you. Out of all the people he's encountered, you were the first one that felt connected to him. His eyes were cursed by your beauty. But as you twirl around, your left foot accidentally slipped and you screamed but then he cameto the rescue like the prince. He caught you by the arms with both of you staring at each other's eyes. You immediately went on your feet, both your cheeks colored cherry red. An awkward silence was caught between you two for a minute. "So, are you-" "Y-yes YES! I'm completelyfine! I just slipped, a bit." You reassured him. You and he strolled around the grass field, and for a couple of minutes both of you ran randomly in circles. Like little kids, like just before. In the end, both of you enjoyed the quality time with each other. Both of you laid down on the grass and gazed at the majestic sunset. 'This feels like a dream' you thought, and glanced at him. He was smiling while staring at the sunset. He caught you, and said, "I'm so glad I met you..". You scoffed, "That sounded cheesy". Both of you laughed and stopped. You turned your whole body to look at him, and he did too. "Have you ever heard of the word, Hiraeth?", "Hiraeth?" Youpondered a bit, but that word doesn't sound familiar. "What does it mean?" You ask. "A homesickness for a home to which you cannot return, a home which maybe never was; the nostalgia, the yearning, the grief for the lost places of your past" Then it suddenly clicked. The memories of him were slowly disappearing. "W-what's happening?!" His body too was slowly fading away. You stood up, and he stood up too, but without half of his body. "Freya, please cherish your life. Forget about me, and live your life" "Hhuh? What? No, I don'tunderstand what's happening this is too much" You lunged at him, but his arms were slowly fading away into the air. Tears fall down from your eyes. "Stay strong, my friend", "No, please! Don't leave me what about-" "your name?"

Years have passed. You graduated, you got a job. But the feeling was still there. You missed someone, a certain someone. That feeling is why you're still in the couch, pondering deeply. You scrolled through the internet, losing hope, until you see the word. "Huh? Why does this sound familiar?", "Hiraeth." You realized, and a tear drops to your face. The feeling that you were felt was finally named. He was your home, the person you would vent your problems to. You remembered a glimpse of a memory, it was when you were in a grassy field. You don't know why this is happening, you don't know why you're doing this. But you went on your feet and ran to the same spot as tears flood your vision.

You arrived, in the same spot. You hurriedly looked around, for the person. For him.But when you saw the sunset. You saw his face, and now you understood everything.

"Thank you, my friend. For being my reason to live on this journey."
