Sunrise

Once I thought I would never have someone that I get along with my entire life. But then I realized some of them need my help. Maybe I can never be a part of their life, but maybe I can help them complete their last wish before they're gone.

The sky still looks dark, my pocket watch said it's about 4 AM. Am I too soon to see the sunrise ? Maybe I am, as I looked around I saw nothing. It's just me, the sand on my feet, the dawn wind breezing between my hair, and the sea in front of me, sending more water to move closer onto my feet.

There was the moment before I heard something cracking on the edge of the island. I was not happy hearing those loud noises and it even got louder and louder. That's the moment I saw him, a poor little boy crying for help but doesn't know what to do. Of course, I want to help you by taking him to a shelter but I thought, he just like the others, run away from me even if they don't know who I am.

" MAMA!! PAPA!! HUWAA OZETTE FELT SORRY!! OZETTE SO SORRY TO SAILED ALONE HUWEEE, PLEASE TAKE OZETTE'S BACK TO HOME, OZETTE SCARED "

That's what I heard from the boy.

I've never heard of a boy named Ozette before, but that name seems to really suit him well. His crying makes me want to help him, but I'm afraid he'll be scared of me before I even help him survive on this island. So then I turn myself into a lantern and try not to make him scared.

Surprise, he's not afraid of me at all. It was a surprise for me. But in my life, I learned that sometimes children don't feel scared of something they see as an interesting object or a person, so I assume He finds me as an interesting lantern friend and it really is. He sometimes annoys me at first but as soon as possible he's a fun and talkative person.

As time goes on, he always asked my permission to look at the sunrise. I gave him my permission to see the sunrise with me, he looks so happy and said that he never see the sunrise at his place before, I never asked why but I heard that the sky near his home is always covered in clouds and he always see rain so it doesn't make me confused.

" Mrs. Lantern!! Ozette Saw many seashells on the edge of the beach. Can Ozette take a peek and take some of it to home?? "

I always answer with yes, I don't want to make him sad or whatever, maybe I made him sulking and being pouty all day but then his mood changes fast. If only I knew where he was from, I would be likely to send him back and not see me back again, but seeing him as a little boy who doesn't have anything here, I don't know what to say and what to do actually.

" Mrs. Lantern Mrs. Lantern!! Wake up! It's time to see the sunrise outside. Ozette really wants to see the sunrise "

His voice wakes me up, sometimes he stays up late. But I think it's because he seems really energetic to see the sunrise on the edge of the beach. As if I was still asleep, he was still trying to shake my body with all of his energy. With his angry pouty face, I almost laughed when I saw his round angry face like that, it always makes me smile.
