Platform 9 3/4 was the same as it always was on the first of september every year. Bustling with activities and children parted from their families. Muffeled cries and relieved sighs could be distinguished from each corner, which held quite a contrast to the glooming dread that the outside wizarding world held. But despite all the politics of it, every student present around the platform of hogwarts express gravitated towards the safety and comfort that hogwarts had to offer.
Adorned in her blue dress robes and uniform, Ersilia strutted her way through the platform as she proudly wore the head girl batch. Bidding her brother and parents a long and emotional farewell, she briskly found herself in the prefects carriage, wanting to be prepared before the prefects meeting. Expecting to find the fellow head boy already there, she was surprised when she found carriage empty. With a disappointed sigh she dropped her trunks on the corner and went in to work as she shuffled through the prefect duties. Just before the train started moving the compartment door burst open to reveal a poised young man with not a thread out of his uniform, contrasting to his chiseled curly black hair which was a mess.
"Lupin," he exclaimed, "wasn't expecting to find you here." his voice was collected yet it still held a glint of surprise.
"You are late." she said without looking up choosing to ignore his inculptous form of greeting.
"I'm never late, others are simply early." he said as he moved his hands to fix the collar of his shirt.
Ersilia rolled her eyes and stood up.
"You know what Black?" she hissed.
"Oh please enlighten me." he mocked sarcastically.
"We're probably gonna have to spend a lot of time together." he scoffed and ersilia hardened her glare at him.
"As I was saying, we will have to spend a lot of time together, share a dorm and you know what not, so i believe it's best we be civil and forget about our past." she mentally gave herself a pat on her shoulder, feeling proud of having a civil conversation with the younger black.
"You mean forget the countless number of times you and your stupid band of filth dyed my robes red, Let loose atleast a hundread of flobberworms in the common room and not to mention how you pushed me in the corridor in first year without any apparent reason. Need I go on?" he said as he recalled other countless of so called harmless pranks the self proclaimed marauders had done, specifically targeting the slytherins.
"Hey you were in my way and i was in a rush. So it's really your fault if you think about it." she insisted. And before he coul respond the compartment started getting full as all the prefects one by one entered. Ersilia quickly caught Regulus up to the schedule and minor details. After a while Ersilia cleared her throat to gather everyone's attention.
