THE AWAKE OF WILLOW

Willow's POV-

Deep in the forest, where no animal even dared to visit, there I was raised. A small village of really jolly people who celebrated life every day.

 I never knew my mom and dad but I was raised by my aunt who was a free-spirited lady. I was named after a really unique woman named Willow, or that's what I was told. Peace was the light of our village but was not when THEY arrived.

Our head of the village used to call them 'THE AWAKE' as they never used to sleep, like literally never..... The war was brutal and thank goodness our village didn't get destroyed. 

THE AWAKE ruled it all and anyone with even 1% emotions was brainwashed including my lovely aunt.

She hid me quite well and told me to never trust an 'AWAKE', "they are vultures" she said. She taught me how to fool them, make them think I was one of their own and I too played the act very well.

 My aunt turned herself in so I wouldn't be caught and now she doesn't even recognize me, It's just not fair and so in school, we were taught life isn't fair.

I'm Willow with no last name, no parents, no class, no money. All I have are my emotions, ability to have feelings, and sleep which all I'll always owe to my aunt, my savior.

 Currently 19, one year older than the law age to have a husband coz, I know it sounds too cheesy but I want to wait for true love.

 You must be thinking how is that even possible when all are 'ROBOTS' but something tells me that there is someone out there for me, I can just feel it.

I don't want to marry someone random to increase the population of the 'AWAKE' clan, it's against my morals. Peace in my village was laughter, fun, togetherness but here it's just silence. 

Prince William's POV-

A small town far away from anyone's radar but near the borders of the northern territory was a happy place. It was a small but fulfilling kingdom ruled by the royal family of Waders.

My mother was the light of the palace, her beauty would shine through the walls of the palace and light up the kingdom with happiness and love. My father didn't use to talk much. He and mom fell in love directly when they saw each other, my mom used to tell me this story to bed and all seemed too easy that time.

They met, their eyes did the talking as words were too shy, they fell in love and shared that love with the universe- got married and then had me.

This story always used to raise hope in me that someday I'll too have someone to share my life with. A person who will love me unconditionally, cherish me, and walk by me till death do us apart. But this hope got destroyed when I was just 12.

[THE DAY IT ALL FELL APART]

"I gave you the world and you repay me with betrayal" King yelled

"you gave me no choice, what you are doing is wrong" Queen yelled back

"It is for the betterment of our kingdom, betterment for us and you were about to ruin it" King replied

"Betterment for the kingdom, betterment for us... WHAT BULLSHIT", "you only intend to satisfy your ego and this greed of yours will not have a happy ending",

"I will not let you do this to the kingdom, to us and my son...... I FORBID YOU" Queen yelled in disappointment

"You have to be alive to do that" King replied

Mother's face turned pale in terror. She tried to get away but my father had his full intentions not to let her go this time. She fought back bravely but she couldn't escape the dagger piercing through her heart.

He didn't even show any response and left the room. He saw me watching and picked me by the arm and let me to the next room. My face showed a lot of emotions at that time- anger, fear, sorrow, worry. He told me that my mother betrayed him and the punishment for betrayal was death.

The next day itself my father started the war with the whole world, won ruthlessly. People started referring to us as 'THE AWAKE' and started being scared of us. While all this was going on I turned 20, finished my studies, and returned to the kingdom which was now bigger than ever.

I was brainwashed by my father itself when I was 15 and all was good, that's what he thought. All my emotions and feelings were removed with my ability to sleep and were replaced with logic, practicality but one thing he could not remove was the memory of my mother but I played along in the tests to keep this secret away from being revealed.

The king wants me to marry an 'AWAKE CLAN'S FINEST' woman and produce an heir but after what happened I don't believe in love.
