DONUTS

It was a quiet afternoon. You were in the library reading and Alcina was in her study doing some paperwork. You hated whenever she had to work. Alcina would lock herself in her study and not come out for hours. Sometimes she would fall asleep on her table and you would have to sleep alone for the night. It was sad seeing her overworking herself.

So deciding that you would surprise her and the girls. Well you had nothing better to do, so time to get to work!

You bust out an apron and tie it around yourself. There are no recipes for donuts in the castle or any devices for you to look it up on since Alcina hates modern technology and doesn't want it anywhere near her.

So you had to remember how you used to make them with your parents.

You mix all of the dry ingredients and then the wet ingredients and as you are mixing the final batter you hear a buzzing sound.

"Whatcha doing mom? " - Daniela asks looking curiously into the batter.

"I'm making donuts for Alcina, but don't tell her" - you reply smilling.

"Ooo will we get to have some? " - Bela asks

"Of course, as long as Alcina doesn't eat all of them" - you laugh.

"Confident much? " - Cassandra snorts.

You laugh and go back to mixing the mixture as they turn back into flies and fly off.

You decide to make the donuts chocolate flavour and add a blood glaze on top. You shape the donuts and deep fry them. Sizzling as they cook. After they are done you take them out of the hot oil and place them neatly on a napkin and dry the extra oil off. You made about 20 donuts.

"Should be okay for three people. " - you mutter to yourself.

As they are cooling off you start on the icing. Making just a simple powdered sugar glaze. The recipe as you remember calls for powdered sugar, corn syrup and water. Well also blood in your case. You mix the powdered sugar and corn syrup together. Now how the hell are you supposed to get blood. You need like a cup.

"Cassandra, Bela, Daniela!! " - you shout. Waiting a second you hear buzzing.

"Yes mom? " - they say in unison.

"Could you be dears and get a cup of blood for me, only the best though. " - you ask and hand them the cup.

"Uhm, okay! " - Bela says and Daniela takes the cup from your hands and they fly away to the cellar.

They return about 10 minutes later with the cup full.

"Here! Sorry we took so long, got a little distracted" - Daniela hands you the cup.

"It's okay, and thank you girls. "- they nod and fly away giggling.

You add the blood to the powdered sugar and corn syrup mixture and watch as it turns into a glistening crimson glaze. It looks good, even you would eat it. Okay maybe not, knowing what's in it.

You dip the now cooled off donuts into the glaze and take them out. You place the donuts on a fancy plate. You take the plate and prepare to go to Alcina. God you hope she likes them.

You walk up the stairs and stand in front of the door to her study.

You knock three times.

" Alcina? Dear? May I come in. " - you ask.

"No, I am working. " - Alcina replies coldly.

"But please... I need to. " - you sulk.

"Fine, dear. Come in. " - she says with a sigh.

You open the door.

"SURPRISE!! " - you shout and she jumps.

"I made you donuts! " - you say and giggle a little at Alcina's shocked face.

"God, dear, don't scare me like that. My soul almost left my body. But thank you, pet. " - Alcina said calming down a little.

You bring them over to her table and set them down.

"Ooo these look gorgeous, thank you, dear" - Alcina says and kisses you, making you moan into her lips.

She breaks the kiss and takes a donut from the plate. She takes a bite out of it and you watch as she chews it with red glaze covering the tip of her nose.

"These are very good, I didn't know you could bake, darling. I could eat these forever. " - she laughs.

"I'm glad you like them, Alcina. " - you smile and with your finger take the glaze off of her nose and lick it off of your finger.

"Oh? Whoops, thank you, darling. " - she chuckles and sets down the donut.

"You are gonna distract me from my work, I need to get back to it. I promise I won't take long. " - she pecks you on the lips and gets back to work.

"I'll see you soon, Mommy" - you say putting a seductive tone on the name and leave.

Now she doesn't even want to work anymore.
