Let me just start of by saying that I wrote this in the middle of the second lockdown but that I only built up the confidence to publish it. Enjoy!

The city is now full of desolate streets

People gone for the day

Perhaps for the year

And nobody cares

The buses are empty

The commuters are gone

What used to be millions

Is now zero and none

What if the city could think

What if the streetlights could talk

Would they talk with each other

Or would they silently watch

What do two streetlights say

How will they understand

That the city is dying

That the homes will collapse

What if alleys had feelings

Would they cry at the sight?

Of nobody there

In the day, not the night?

Where are humans, they wonder

They are all stuck inside

When will this be over?

When will people see light?
