April 1982:

The two where on their way to the small cottage in Yorkshire, which belonged to Remus' parents before they passed, and lingered for a moment in the small font garden. Sirius turned his head to the said to look at the twenty-two year old next to him.

"Are you okay, love?" He asked, Sirius was concerned for Remus, he always was.

Remus had a history for going into states where he would lash out at people randomly. Obviously, it was never his fault. He only ever really lashed out at people around the full moon, that's when his senses were heightened. Sirius understood and would never hold that against him, he knew better than to do that. He heard Remus sniff. Sirius lifted his hand up and put his palm to his cheek and pushed Remus' head to look at him.

"Are you okay, Remus?" Sirius asked again.

The two men looked each other in the eyes for a few minutes until Remus nodded.

"I just can't believe you're free." He said happily. His eyes started to fill with tears, and he looked down shaking his head. "You being free means so much, but it doesn't take away that Lily and James are gone and we still don't have Harry." He added a moment later. Sirius sighed and nodded his head, he knew this and he knew that there was a possibility that they were never going to get Harry because of Professor Dumbledore but that didn't stop Sirius from trying to find a way.

The two men were in the warm sitting room of the of the small cottage, listening to the crackling of the fire and the rain on the windows. They sat on the worn sofa, Remus with a book in his right hand and his left hand running through Sirius' hair. Sirius liked to put his head on Remus' lap and be pet because it made him feel safe and secure. Something he hadn't had in six months which, to him, was a long time.

He left his horrible family and found a home and good life with the Potters at sixteen and now he felt lost. He no longer had the family he confided in when he was at his worst and now he didn't even have the last of the Potters. Harry was stuck with Petunia and Vernon until they found a way to get him from them and he could only hope that it wouldn't be to long.

The two men were walking through the doors of the Ministry waiting for Dumbledore and other Ministry Officials to come and greet them. When they got to the room they were told to wait in. Remus sat down and Sirius just paced the room up and down, shoving a worrying hand through his dark brown hair over and over making his curls look crazy. Sirius wouldn't stay still for longer than two seconds it seemed. Stopping, looking at Remus, pacing again, and the cycle continued.

Remus looked at the brown hair wizard and let out a sigh. His eyes following Sirius as he paced once, twice, thrice until he had enough.

"Sirius, love, please. You're making me just a little dizzy." He said as he guided him to the seats. "Sit down." Sirius grumbled and looked the the blue eyes of his boyfriend.

"I'm not a dog," he started until Remus gave him a look, "Right now" he finished with a shy look on his face.

He was nervous, they both were. The two men were going to finally find out if they were allowed to have Harry. Their bestfriends son, the son of the people that they had made a promise to protect him if anything were to happen to them. The Potters always knew something was coming for them. James made sure to plan everything ahead and always make sure the people he loved had the very best and Lily, she was one of a kind. She never let anyone be sad, she adopted Remus' love for chocolate and started to carry it round giving it to people if they looked sad or unwell. She had a heart of gold and was as selfless as anything, where as James carried the ego and the courage to even out the pair. always flaunting the golden snitch he has snatched from one of the seekers or showing off infront of Lily to get her attention, but even with all of that he was always there for his friends no matter what. He would drop everything without a second thought if it meant his friends were happy and safe. James and Lily were known as the Golden Couple of Gryffindor. The whole of the house was in anticipation form the first year of when and if they two would get together. In the end a bet of almost a thousand Galleons had built up from all of the new students that joined them every year.

Sirius looked at Remus, just as he was about to say something Dumbledore walk in with an envelope in his hand. His eyes glistened as he held the off white parchment out to the two wizards.

"Sir, is this it?" Sirius asked with a shaky voice. Dumbledore only nodded, clearly disappointed. Remus stood not knowing whether he wanted to open the envelope. After what seemed like hours Remus took the envolope out if their Hogwarts professor's hand and took a deep breath, breaking the seal and reading the first line in his head. Eyes watering he let out a laugh which sounded more like a sob than an action of joy.

"Rem?" Sirius asked concurned, standing up and walking towards him to look over Remus' shoulder to read the letter.

Sirius looked up from the cetificate then turned his gaze to the old professor. "Sir, is this real?" he was in shock, comeplete disbelief that was until he heard the babble of his nephew. Remus looked up at the sound to and looked towards the door where Mcgonagall came walking in with the little boy on her hip.

Both men walked towards her with a slow but steady pace fearing that if they moved to fast Harry would dissapear and they would be right where they started. With open arms Sirius took harry and pulled him into his chest burrying his face into the messy raven hair on the top of the young boys head. Holding him close basking the in moment where his Godson was in his rightful place. Suddenly a pair of strong arms wrapped around them both. Remus was holding them tight trying to hold himself together wishing this wasnt just a dream and that he would wake up in the morning with no Sirius and no Harry.

Dumbledore clapped his hands together, it echoing though the ministry room. "Now that you are all reaquanted and whole again, I suggest you go home and get some well desearved rest." with that the man walked out of the room, Mcgonagall trailing behind him with a smile on her face.

The new family of 3 stood there for a few moments taking in all in. Stuck in a fog of happiness and peace. Feeling whole again. As they made their way to the floo to get back to their cottage Remus and Sirius looked at each other smiling, joy filling each inch of their beings. Ready to start this new chapter of their lives with no worries of where Harry is, how hes growing up and if hes happy. Bth wizards knew that this was the best thing to happen after the dreadful year theyve had to live in fear and whats going to come next.
