(ˈstɛrɪəʊ ɪˈfɛkt) the stereo effect is the spatial effect given to sound that is achieved by using two or more separate microphones to feed two or more loudspeakers through separate channels.

pretty sure most of you have noticed this. in loud speakers for example, this effect is designed to create an impression of the sound to be heard from different directions, rather than all coming from the from the same place.
if you haven't noticed it already, you know what to do. it's pretty intriguing stuff or maybe it's just me.
