Trial...In Session!

Togami: "Evidence points directly at Maizono. Before she opened the door, we saw her name plate. Though the file is contradictory, I think its safe to say that the body was found in her room."
Makoto: "NO THATS WRONG!"
Sayaka: "Makoto's right!"
Kyoko: "What was it you said earlier Makoto?"
Makoto: "Sayaka and I switched rooms last night."
Sayaka: "Its because I was scared....someone was trying to get into my room last night."
Togami: "Fine. Then at the least, the body was found where Sayaka was sleeping last night. She is still incredibly suspicious and the main suspect."
Makoto: "H-hold on a sec! Dont jump to any rash conclusions!"
Asahina: "But his conclusion will likely save our lives Naegi- we have to consider that Maizono probably did it."
Kyoko: "Not so fast."
Asahina: "huh-?"
Kyoko: "I am under the impression it is too soon to point the finger."
Makoto: "I am of the same opinion!"

Sayaka smiled a bit.

Togami: "How do you figure?"
Makoto: "I got it! The time the body died...it is in our Monokuma Files."
Kyoko: "9:30 pm last night."
Makoto: "Exactly! There was blood pouring our the door, he shouldnt have still been bleeding if he was killed that late."
Sayaka: "Th-thats right!"
Togami: "She simply stabbed him before breakfast."
Kyoko: "That logic makes no sense Togami."
Togami: "The evidence still points primarily to her, though I suppose this lessens my suspicion."
Hagakure: "Damn...now what are we supposed to go off of?"
Asahina: "What about the murder weapon?"
Sayaka: "The kitchen knife?"
Sakura: "That evidence definently points to Sayaka directly."
Makoto: "How so....?"
Asahina: "L-last night...me and Sakura were drinking tea when...when she..."
Sakura: "Sayaka took a large knife from the wall."
Sayaka: "I....I-I.......I......I DIDNT KILL HIM!"
Togami: "And so my suspicion returns..."

Makoto thought hard.

Celestia: "So we are to assume she had the murder weapon?"

Makoto perked up.

Makoto: "Thats where your wrong!"
Togami: "Naegi, I know your friends but for Gods sake..."
Makoto: "No,no...- please...hear me out!"
Togami: "Make it quick."
Makoto: "Sakura. Can we confirm that she took a large knife?"
Sakura: "The biggest one on the wall."
Kyoko: "I see..."
Togami: "As do I. Go on, tell them Naegi."
Makoto: "Leon was killed with a small kitchen knife. The large kitchen knife was clean and unused on my night stand."

Sayaka sighed relief.

Celestia: "Well then. Who are we to suspect?"

Makoto had no idea how he was going to respond...
