It was just another day at the Behavioral Analysis Unit. The weather was gloomy, but everybody arrived at work nonetheless and were working in their separate areas until Hotch called everybody to a large but empty room in the office. Prentiss was notified first, and being the profiler she is, knew something had to be up. She was the one to warn JJ, and the two followed Hotch immediately. Not long after, Reid and Morgan made their way inside. Not to anyone's surprise, Rossi had already been there, leaving Garcia to be the last one to enter. "So, what's new, people?" She asked with a smile that quickly faded once she read the room. Each face had still, almost solemn expressions over them, Hotch's being the worst. "Did I miss something?" After closing the door behind herself, the room had no sounds other than the occasional breathing. It was obvious someone wanted to talk, get Garcia up to date, but there wasn't anything to really say. Finally, Hotch put a paper down on the desk and spoke; "We have a new case."

"27 murders?!" Garcia exclaimed loudly from her desk. Now that the case had been shared, it was her duty to get more details than just the amount the one piece of paper held. "Oh, false alarm. 24." Morgan walked past, urgently making his way towards where Reid was seated, slamming a pile of papers to mark his announcement. "How much does one man need to print?" He asked with his regular stern tone. "I don't know what you're talking about, I- I didn't print anything," he stuttered in response and stood up from his seat. "I've been working on piecing together the murder locations Garcia found, but there's nothing, which is odd for a serial killer. They usually have a specific kind of area, whether that's a city or a state. This is all over the world, from Russia all the way back to New York." "Wait, back to New York? What's that supposed to mean?" JJ asked, entering the visible area after overhearing. Garcia continued to stay in her own little bubble while also eavesdropping as much as she could. "Well, the first reported body was a tourist stopped in New York, and now the last one was somebody born and raised in New York." Reid stated, keeping his eyes on everybody in the room and stopping on Prentiss when she pranced through the door confidently. "Watch the pronouns, I have a feeling this unsub is way deeper than anything you'd get from first glance." She said, making everybody turn their attention onto her. She stopped in her shoes when the focus turned, asking, "what?" like she didn't say anything. The group unintentionally got closer by Garcia's desk and engaged in a serious talk.

"Hotch is already out of it and we just got all of this information." JJ started.

"Not to mention, Rossi side-eyeing that paper," Morgan added to contribute.

"So, what are we supposed to do? Let them bro-hug it out?" Reid asked, looking serious but being obviously sarcastic.

"I have a feeling there's more to this than we think." Prentiss said louder than intended, quieting down immediately. "Garcia, can you try figuring out anything we don't already know? Who was last seen with the victims, their families and friends?" Taking her hands off the keyboard, Penelope looked up at Prentiss, who was getting out of her leaned-over position beside the desk so that she could leave once the exchange was over. "You want to know more," Garcia said questioningly with a head tilt. "You think Hotch knows the guy," she added with more of a knowing-tone. Prentiss took a step back, a bit disappointed in herself for not putting more effort in hiding that well enough. "Can you do it?" Emily said to close off the conversation, which worked successfully.

The team all scattered back to their usual areas, but by the next hour, nothing new was discovered. Reid still couldn't connect the dots with the locations, Morgan created a halfway-profile with the help of Prentiss, JJ scanned every victims' files just about 20 times, and Garcia barely got 5 necessary facts out of her researching. All the while, Hotch and Rossi were having a chat outside of the building, only coming back inside when the rain started pouring. As they walked down hallways, they bickered about something that scared everybody out of listening. But Prentiss was determined to figure this out. She followed the two into a room and stood outside the door secretly listening, luckily not being seen as suspicious by whoever walked past.

"It isn't him."

"And if it is?"

"Look, if this team figures something out before us and it jeopardizes your great 'plan', that's on you. I said this should be an 'us' thing."

"And I said we can't do this alone!" Hotch yelled furiously, making Prentiss mentally flinch at the image she could picture with the words she was hearing.

She proceeded to press herself closer to the door, but before she could regain focus, JJ walked over. "Em, what are you doing?" She asked loud enough for the two inside to hear, and put their argument on hold. "Damn it," Prentiss muttered under her breath and moved back to her own office, Jennifer following. "What is this about?" "I was getting information," she replied whilst taking a seat. "But now, you made me lose it." JJ looked over the woman's face and saw that she really had made a mistake. Prentiss hadn't looked this angry since her mother, 'Ambassador', last made a visit and forced Emily to do a task that was out of her way, and messed up her flow of things. Prentiss just looked down, knowing that she shouldn't be as angry as she was but not being able to contain it correctly. JJ slowly backed out of the room, only to say a few exchanging words before fully exiting. "I'll make it up to you."
