It's been a stony path, but it eventually led to Yuzu admitting her true feelings to Mei and Mei actually accepting them. After many attempts, confusing kisses and countless uncomfortable situations, Yuzucchi and Mei Aihara are finally dating.

But what is their story? How did it get to this? And what do they mean to each other?

It all started when when Yuzu and her mother Ume moved to Tokyo because Ume had fallen in love with a new guy who lived there. It meant that Yuzu had to transfer to a different school, which, to her strong dislike, is an all girls school - the Aihara Academy. Yuzu got in trouble with the student council on her first day because of the way she was dressed. She stood her ground towards them, only to find out that the student council president Mei Aihara - a very strict, organized and ambitious girl in the same grade as Yuzu - is her mother's new lover's daughter, which meant that Mei was her new step-sister. They probably could have become good supportive sisters, if Yuzu hadn't bothered Mei so much on their first day living together and Mei hadn't decided to kiss her to 'shut her up', confusing Yuzu's feelings on the very first day.

Since that first kiss Mei was ever the only thing on Yuzu's mind, so on an emotional rollercoaster going up and down, they exchanged several kisses and Yuzu made it clear to Mei that she loved her, yet it seemed to her that Mei needed a sister more than a girlfriend at the moment, especially if being in a relationship would make Mei's life complicated because it was with her step-sister. That's why Yuzu tried to hold herself back and support Mei as a sister and yet, they constantly ended up all over each other.

Luckily, Yuzu met Harumin on her first day at the new school, who had transferred there not too long ago and instantly became her new best friend. Harumin has had her back ever since, not feeling too bothered by Yuzu constantly being in a bad mood and stressed out because of the drama she had going on with Mei. They restricted themselves to just being sisters, until Yuzu met Sarah and her twin sister Nina during a school trip. Sarah encouraged her to admit her feelings and fight for her crush no matter what and although Sarah had developed a crush on Mei too, she saw it as her fate to bring Yuzu and Mei together. With this new encouragement, Yuzu finally took all of her strength together and admitted her feelings to Mei and luckily, Mei agreed to give dating a try.

So this is their story. But what do they really mean to each other?

I guess that's hard to answer since they seem to not exactly know that themselves, at least not yet. However, what we can say is that both care about each other very much and although they often have a hard time understanding each other, they try their best. Although it may seem like Yuzu cares about Mei more because she tries very hard to support her and Mei is rather quiet and closed most of the time, it's obvious that also Mei enjoys their bonding time together. In fact, she has offered to do something that would make Yuzu happy out of gratitude for Yuzu's support. Mei might just find it even harder to express how she is feeling and to even allow herself to feel happy. She was raised to strictly follow the rules and with her father's disappearance, she has made following the rules and working hard the center of her world.

Will Yuzu be able to break through to Mei and make her see that there are more important things to put your focus on?
