Her long slender fingers gripped the door of Tim Hortons harshly as she pulled it open. Her anger flowing through her steps as she stormed up to the counter.
"I need a coffee." She snapped all fuming mad. Her boyfriend had canceled there plans for the weekend because he had to work all of a sudden. She was so mad, she had worked hard so she could spend this weekend with him.
"Sweetened or plain." The young cashier asked trying to keep his fear at bay.
"Ahhh, men always asking questions." She snapped. The young man punched the order in and scrambled to complete the cold brew perfection. He finished it perfectly with just the right amount of ice to coffee. He gently poured the cream so it would swirl carefully into the coffee.
"This coffee is are cold Brew coffee with vanilla cream. A journey, specially made for you, in a cup." The young cashier spoke handing over there brand new cold brew coffee. He added vanilla cream to sweeten it for her. The young women grab the clear plastic cup and walked over to a booth. With a deep sigh the swirl of vanilla cream and coffee reminded her of there relationship. She was trying to fit into his life, much like the cream was swirling through the coffee.
Bringing the cold substance to her lips, she allowed some of it to spill into her mouth. It was smooth and creamy as the bold taste of coffee hit. A giggle escaped as she realized, no mater how hard she fit in he loved her for who she was. Lifting it up to her lips once more she allowed more of the sweet substance to cascade down. The smooth velvety substance rolled over her tongue and down her throat so gently leaving that gentle hint of vanilla. Her eyes closed as she remembered how he caressed her cheek with his thumb as his vanilla flavored lips would move in sync with hers. That vanilla flavor chap stick always kept his lips so velvety smooth. A cherished christmas gift she had given him when she had very little money. Taking yet another swig a gentle chill calmed her body, something only his touch could ever do to her. Opening her eyes she saw the vanilla cream had finally emerged with the coffee causing her to gasp. She had been trying so hard to be that perfect girl for him. What she really just needed to be is herself. She was going to be the girlfriend he loved, not the workaholic she had become.
The cashier smiled as he watched her, the anger coming off her like smoke over a counter. When she closed her eyes he knew the drink was doing what it was suppose to. His smile evident on his lips as he watched her take off, he knew his buddy was in for a good weekend.
