|| Author's POV ||
Everything was finally over.
Atleast that's what he thought.
Not one part of whatever sick plan they had in mind was done.
Done, but not right.
Not in the way they, wanted.
It wasn't the way he wanted it to be.
Not like this at least.
The guilt was swallowing him up inside, but there was nothing he could do about it.
All he could do was say, "Yes, sir" and nod mindlessly like a fool.
The only way out for him was to get this over with and leave.
This was the last thing he had to do, they said.
The sane side of himself was disappointed.
Disappointed in how her could treat his own daughter in this way.
He wasn't the one who made the plan, neither was he the one who was getting it done.
He was... more of the man in the middle.
The one helping in both, in a way.
And that was the reason he disliked this job tremendously.
It felt worse knowing what was going to happen to his daughter and helping some insane person put the plan into action.
He was spiralling into a void of darkness without anyone to help him.
At this point, he had absolutely no one to live for.
Not his family,
Or himself.
The happiness that he once had was snatched away from him in a matter of seconds, and he was desperate.
Desperate to save the people he loved most.
But he hadn't known it was his own people he was hurting.
The same people he wanted to keep safe.
To protect.
He was already broken, but this...
It put him back together again and smashed him down, over and over again.
The pain he went through was worth it, he thought.
He deserved all of this hurting and pain.
All because he hurt the people he was supposed to love the most in his life.
The same people who were supposed to love him.
The family, he would call his own.
But, he wasn't the ideal life partner.
Neither was he the perfect dad.
The drugs he took were the poison and the unhealthy addiction he had towards them was in no way good.
He had gotten trapped into a cycle of addiction and guilt, and he wasn't getting out of it anytime soon.
He had realized his mistake too late.
It was all his fault.
And there wasn't one thing he could do to fix it.
