"I'm your little sister"

Hazel's world was a blur, she vaguely remembered being introduced to the coven or family as Carlisle described them. Esme his beautiful wife with the gorgeous caramel curls, Rosalie the beautiful goddess who scoffed at her husband's Emmett's wink, and finally Jasper who was introduced as Alice's husband.

It was a good job she was a vampire and able to process tons of information at once, otherwise, she never would have been able to process the amount of information being thrown at her.

"I'm your little sister"

Those words seemed to hang in the air for a second before chaos ensued. Questions being thrown left right and center.

"Sister? What do you mean sister?" – Rosalie

"You sure took your time coming here" – Emmett

"Oh, how wonderful. Another member of the family to welcome" – Esme

"you alright Darling?" -Jasper

But the one that stood out the most was the quietest of all, "sister" Alice whispered in awe.

Seeming to understand some sort of order needed to be restored, Carlisle stepped forward and intervened. "Why don't we all sit down, and Hazel can tell us about herself and her story." Clearly the leader, the other vampires took seats around the room and Alice surprised Hazel by gently taking her hand and leading to her the loveseat, where they sat close together.

Hazel looked around at the others unsurely, she knew her arrival would gather attention, but she didn't think she would be faced with a whole coven of vampires.

Seeming to understand her slight apprehension, Alice squeezed her hand. "I'm sorry Hazel, I don't remember my human life, you are going to have to explain everything to me" Her voice was kind, Hazel could see the confusion and pain in her eyes and the hope that she would now be able to find answers to her past.

Hazel looked at her unsurely, "it's a long and not very nice story and I'm not sure where to start"

Carlisle shifted and leaned forward slightly, "Why don't you start at the beginning, anything you feel comfortable sharing" He smiled kindly at her again and Hazel let herself feel comfortable, he had such a nice aura it was hard to feel anything but calm around him.

"Are you sure you don't mind them knowing everything?" Hazel asked Alice, wanting to make sure she was comfortable with her family knowing their whole horrid past.

"They're family" Alice simply replied, Hazel, tried to hide the wince of pain and jealousy but obviously failed when Alice squeezed her hand again and sent her another reassuring smile.

"Ok, where to start. I suppose the beginning. So, you were born two years before me in Mississippi, our mother died giving birth to me and our father never seemed to recover. He was never abusive, but he made it clear I was not his daughter. You, he adored and you did your best to shield me from his disapproval until you were eight and proved both his children were unworthy of calling them his. Do you still have visions, Alice?"

There were murmurs around the room, but Hazel ignored them and kept her attention on her sister who nodded silently.

"Interesting. Well anyway at eight you started to develop your gift. You would know when it was going to rain, you knew what days father would be late from work and you definitely knew what days I should avoid his temper. At first, it was our little secret, a secret we had to ourselves that no one else in the world knew about.

But then when you were ten you got actual visions, we kept them secret too, but you would space out for seconds or minutes at a time and our father grew suspicious. When you were 15 you accidentally let slip a vision you had of father ripping a customer off that would come back and make trouble for him. Father ignored your warning thinking you were speaking nonsense, but when it came true he began to fear you. He could ignore your spacing out as a child's folly, something you would grow out of, but seeing the future was something the devil would do and he would not tolerate that behavior in his house.
