chapter 1:where am I?

I opened my eyes, and saw these humanoid creatures, two that had bodies of obsidian and heads of fire, though the bigger one had an obsidian helmet.

"It seems to be awake" the one with a knight like helmet spoke, the heat radiating off of him warming the air around us.

"Do you think its one of the Merfolk?" The female asked.

"Nonsense, its practically autumn, they never travel this far from the ocean this far into the season" 

"then what is it?" the group gathered around me, i could only pretend being asleep for so long.

these things look too big, i cant possibly fight one, let alone all of them, and judging by the how they got here so fast, i highly doubt i could outrun any of them.

" get up" my thoughts were interrupted as i was lifted off the ground by the bigger flaming being, heat singeing the back of my neck as I felt an unbearable heat from the hand that held my hair. "what are you and what name do you go by?" the smaller fire creature walked up to me, her face was straight and held no emotion, but her eyes held everything, i swear i could see her curiosity, her wondering mind, her energy, her life, even.

"can it even speak?" she spoke once more, I hadn't even realized how long i was staring into her glowing eyes.

"... I... havent seen... a human... in ages..."  a raspy voice drew all of our attention towards a giant humanoid tree then slowly walked towards us, the earth shaking with every step it took.

"a human? but they went extinct ages ago" The bigger hot head lowered me to my feet, which could barely hold my own weight.

"no... they ascended... past the clouds... and past the stars..." the tree then tilted its head upwards, looking into the blue sky, no clouds to be seen.

"but isnt there almost no oxygen out there? didnt humans need alot of air to survive, just like us?" the curious flame from before stepped into the conversation.

" the humans survived for so many years, they've had to of had an alternative, right elder tree?" one of these pale, small humans that seemed to float in the air effortlessly spoke, resting their hand on their cheek.

"they... took ...the earth... right... under... their feet..." everyone gasped as the raspy words left the elder tree's mouth.

"They stole bits of earth?" The small person in the air mused.

"Ex-excuse me... but where am I?" I finally spoke up.

Everyone's eyes darted towards me.

"It spoke" the female fire person stepped forward only to be pushed back by the obsidian guy. With a huff she pushed his hands away "I'm Amber of the hearth..." she smiled calmly, her hand on her chest as she focused on me. "your currently on earth"

I slapped my face immediately. Earth was destroyed centuries ago....
