That night, Shouto didn't sleep.

And how could he, when his head was filled with so many thoughts, he was sure it would explode by morning.

The main thing was that you weren't you.

Well, you were you, but you weren't who he thought you were.

He couldn't believe it. He had seen you as that girl who played with him so many years ago, when you had no connection with her at all.

He was sure; you weren't her. He didn't know what had made him think that before, but now, with the truth in front of him, there wasn't any resemblance between you and her, whoever she was.

What was worse, Shouto had told you about those memories like you were a part of them. He had made you believe you now knew some of your childhood, when in reality, it was someone else's.

And there was also the fact that he had kissed you, he had spent time with you, all while thinking you were a completely different person.

How was he supposed to know if he still cared about you, when he saw you from a completely different perspective?

He wasn't mad, it was nowhere near your fault, but at the same time, Shouto knew he wouldn't see you in the same way ever again.

He was just confused and overwhelmed. What was the best way to manage this situation? He was definitely going to tell you the truth, he wouldn't be able to live with himself knowing he had left you with false memories.

The worst part was that he wasn't sure if he still cared about you. After all, he had been thinking you were someone else the whole time.

It was like a curtain of fog had been lifted off his eyes, and he could now see very clearly. The only problem was, he would've preferred it if that curtain was never lifted.

Thinking that he had reunited with his beloved childhood friend had seemed so surreal, that now, when he found out you weren't her, it hurt more than if he wouldn't have met her at all.

He didn't know how he was supposed to handle this. Hell, he wasn't even sure if he still cared about you.

Some way or the other, Shouto needed to solve this.

The next day was very weird. You woke up like usual, ate, went to classes, spoke a bit with your friends, all that stuff.

What you didn't do, was talk to the boy sitting behind you.

Well, you had tried talking to him once, when classes ended, but he barely glanced at you before taking his bag and leaving for the day.

You tried reading his expression, but it was blank as usual. It made you furious.

He had suddenly gotten mad at you the night before, didn't even tell you why, and was now completely ignoring you and the issue. It made no sense.

What were you supposed to do?!

Ignore him too and just leave everything that happened until then go to waste?

You couldn't do that. Anything but that. But from what you had seen today, that was what Todoroki wanted.

The question was: why?
Why did he suddenly do that?
Why did he suddenly ignore you?
Why wasn't he at least telling you the reason, so you could see and understand what you had done wrong?

He was keeping everything to himself and not communicating, which was something you weren't going to accept, no matter how much he tried to do it.

You weren't going to let him throw away everything without as much as an explanation.
