Hondo's pov

"Hondo, can we talk?" said Captain Cortes as she entered the Swat locker room.
"Jess, everything ok?" I asked as I put my bag down in my locker.
"sure, I just wanted to give you a heads up on a change to your team.." she said and then closed the door behind her and made sure no one was there
"You're not taking anyone off my team, right?" I asked, anxious for an answer.
"oh no, I'll add one more," she said.
"you're adding one? But then we would have one more member of Mumford's team" I said confused.
"that's why when we need her she'll go with them, she'll be like a Swat Jolly" she said with a shrug.
"so this new member has been given to me, but in fact he will be working with both teams" I said.
"that's right"
"Can I know more about this person?" I asked the Captain.
"She's known as Delba, she was a sergeant at San Francisco SWAT" said Jess, to which I became even more confused
"If she was a sergeant there, why did she come all the way to Los Angeles?" I asked curiously.
"that's a for the person in question to tell you when she wants to, anyway, she's scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning" she said with a smile on her face and walked to the locker room exit.
"Alright, thanks for the notice" I said smiling back.
"it's my job" Jessica said and then walked out of the locker room leaving me alone.

So I finished wearing the uniform and went straight to the main hall, where I found the rest of the team.
"hey boss" said Luca giving me a pat on the shoulder
"guys" I said greeting the guys
"you have something to tell us right?" said Chris
"how did you know?" I asked curiously.
"come on Hondo we know you" added Tan making me smile
"so? What do you have to tell us?" asked Deacon curiously.
"As of tomorrow we have a new member of the team" I said leaving everyone speechless.
"a new member? Street just arrived" said Luca confused
"You're not going to kick me out, are you?" asked Street, visibly agitated.
"don't worry Strett, no one is going to be kicked out, it's just an addition" I said reassuring him.
"Why?" asked Deacon.
"I don't know either" I said.
"Do we know anything about this person?" asked Chris curiously.
"Captain Cortes just told me that her name is Delba and that she was a sergeant in the San Francisco SWAT team" I said with a shrug, I didn't know much more than they did.
"Wait, I've heard his name before" Tan said, grabbing the tablet.
"and where?" Luca and I asked in unison.
"on television, four months ago she prevented the largest trafficking of Fentanyl in the United States" he said broadcasting the news on the big screen, but there were no photos of Delba
"He must be a big shot then" said Street amazed.
"Exactly, why come here to become a simple SWAT officer and not a sergeant?" asked Chris.
"what if he wants to steal your job Hondo?" asked Tan.
"we're getting ahead of ourselves right now, until tomorrow it's not our problem, from tomorrow we might start to worry but until then let's do our job, is that clear?" I said to the team
"clear boss" they replied in unison.
Soon after that we got a call, so we got ready and left.

It had been a rough day, yet it was already the middle of the night and the same morning, which was a few hours later, the new recruit to the squad would have already arrived.

The guys had made me wonder why a sergeant had the transfer, maybe she really wanted to steal my spot.

I had to keep an eye on her.

"Good morning boss" said Tan as soon as I entered the main hall.
"guys" I said, still tired and shaken from the night before.
"Any word on this Delba?" said Luca as he entered the room.
"I haven't seen him yet" I said leaning on the big table in the middle of the room.
"do you think we should be worried?" asked Chris looking at everyone.
"you don't have to worry about Delba" said a voice behind me, so I turned around.
"Captain Cortes" I said settling down next to my team.
"Guys, meet Raya, better known as Delba" said the woman and then moved to show another woman a few years younger.
We were all speechless: she was a woman with dark hair and brow eyes, quite tall for a woman.
"from your faces I gather that I'm not exactly what you expected" said the woman, hinting at a smile and passing her gaze among all the boys of the team.
"not exactly" said Luca embarrassed
"anyway it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Raya Delba but you can call me Raya" she said showing a smile again.
"nice to meet you, I'm Street" said the boy walking up to her and shaking her hand, so everyone did the same.
"I'm Tan"
"I'm Luca nice to meet you"
"Deacon"
"oh finally another woman! I'm Chris, it's a pleasure to meet you" said Chris hugging Ray warmly.
"The pleasure is mine" she said smiling slightly embarrassed.
"I'm Sergeant Harrelson, but you can call me Hondo," I said, moving forward last and shaking her hand.
"Nice to meet you Hondo, I'm Raya"
