Darling in the franxx school AU

Part 2

Sorry it took me a few days to make part 2 I was felling a little unmotivated but anyways here's part 2.

Hiro's POV:

I walk to school the next day with both Naomi and zero two. It was slightly drizzling and I didn't bring an umbrella so my hair was wet. "Hey hiro", I hear Naomi say, "I'm going to move sometime this month". I stop walking. "What"? Naomi stops too. "Yeah and it's gonna be quite far away. Sorry for not telling you sooner. "It's ok", I say. Naomi says, "well what I'm getting at is...we're gonna have to break up".
I look down. "Oh".

I look up and realize zero two is still walking. I run to her and yell, "wait up"! Naomi follows. She hugs me. "I'm sorry", she says, this was probably gonna happen anyway". Zero two turns her head, still marching forward. "Y'all done yet"?
"Oh! Yeah sorry", I say looking away embarrassed.

The following week

"We're gonna miss you", ichigo says to Naomi. Everyone hugs her. After a while she steps back and smiles. She turns around and gets in her car with her family. We all stand at the sidewalk as we watch the car go down the road until it was a little blurry dot in the distance.
"Aww is hiro gonna be ok? Will he cry?", zorome says. This time, both miku and goro slapped him.
"I'm fine really", I say.
"Are you sure? I mean she was your girlfriend", ichigo says blushing.
"I'm sure", I reply.

The next day at school

It was the morning and we were in our first period class. Everyone was extremely tired. The intercom suddenly came on and everyone heard principal nana talk. "Good morning everyone! Just a quick reminder that the welcome back to school dance is on Friday so be prepared! And there will be a king and queen for the dance so be ready to cast your votes! Have a great day everyone!
The mood suddenly changed in there.
"Really? A dance"?, miku asks exited.
"QUIET", our teacher says, I know y'all are excited but we have work to do".

For the rest of the day, everyone would do rheir school work smiling while squirming in their desks. We knew a dance wasn't very exciting but it's been real boring here lately so even the slightest thing could get us exited.
After school, futoshi went up to me. "Hey hiro, I have a question". I turned around just before leaving the school campus.
"What is it"?, I say.
"Well do you think I should ask kokoro to the dance"?, he asks.
"Of course", I say, "if you really want. And if she says no well, she's not worth it".
Futoshi nods having a boost of confidence.

Kokoro's POV:

I start to walk home as I usually do. Today, mitsuru was walking with me. He wanted to ask me something. I wonder what it was.
He clears his throat. "Umm kokoro i...I like you, will you go to the dance with me".
I blush startled. That was definitely not what I was expecting to hear. I've had a crush on him for about a year now. I never expected he liked me back.
"I like you too mitsuru. Sure I'll go to the dance with you".
We stop walking and he leans in for a kiss.
Just then, futoshi walks around the corner with a flower.
"Kokoro I like"-. He gets interrupted by seeing what we are doing.
"Oh", he says.
He slowly walks away. I can hear him crying. My face turns red from embarrassment. I feel guilty. I like futoshi as a friend and he is very kind. But I like mitsuru. "Sorry", I say running home leaving them both behind.

Hiro's POV:

I walk home with zero two as I usually do.
"So what do you think about that dance"?, zero two asks.
"Hm"?, I say, "well it's exiting that an event is happening, but it's not that cool".
Zero two nods as if she was collecting what I just said.
"How about we go together"?, she asks.
"W-what"?, I say startled. I wasn't expecting that. She pushes me against a wall. Her face gets close with mine.
"What do you say darling"?, she says.
"D-darling"?, I say blushing.

I start to think. Zero two is really pretty. And she really seems to like me. But I've only known her for a week.
"Yes or no"?, she says.
I hold my breath staring at her teal colored eyes.
"Yes", I answer.
She backs up and grins. "Ok then".
The rest of the walk home was pretty awkward. For me anyway. I stared at the ground blushing while zero two grinned.
I really liked zero two and how confident she was. She was weird but in a good way.

We finally get to our apartments. "See you later", she says, "darling". I blush even more that before.

The next day

Everyone in our class decided to go clothes shopping for the dance after school.
"Poor hiro is going alone", zorome says teasingly.
I don't respond. He gets closer and looks me in the eye. "Hey are you listening"?, he says.
Zero two comes around the corner. "What do you think of this dress darling"?
Zorome backs up shocked. "D-darling"?! He runs off.
I look at the dress zero two is holding. It is pink and plain.
"Hmm I don't know", I say.
She gets a red flowy dress.
"Try it on", I say.
I blush when she comes back from the dressing room.
"I-it looks good", I say. She smiles putting hair behind her ear.

Kokoro get a short, poofy, green dress. Ichigo gets a long blue dress. Miku has the same dress as kokoro but in pink. And zero two has her red dress. All the boys just wear the same boring suit. So far, there were only 2 couples going. So it didn't really matter if we all matched.

At home

I lay in my bed and stare at the ceiling. I think we might be going a little too far with the whole dance thing but, we're probably not gonna have anything else this fun for a while. Also we've always wanted to be more grown up so this is our chance. My thoughts start to fade away as I fall asleep. Eventually I close my eyes and doze off.

The next day.

I walk into the classroom. Today was. All kinds of emotions mix throughout the classroom. Futoshi looks sad. Both kokoro and mitsuru look guilty. Miku is exited. Zorome is annoyed.
I sit down. Ichigo blushed passing me a note. I look to the side and back to the paper stuffing it in my pocket.

At lunch

I pull out the note ichigo had given and read it from under the table.
It reads:

Hiro, I like you will you go to the dance with me?

I put away the note. What are we in middle school. I don't want to be rude to her but I have to say no. Throughout lunch she stares at me with a hopeful look on her face.

I pull her aside after lunch. "I'm sorry", I say, "but I can't go to the dance with you. I'm going with zero two".
Ichigo's hopefulness melt away from her eyes as she looks down. "Oh", she says, "well sorry for bothering you".
She slowly walks away while staring at the ground. I hold a small bit of guilt in my heart as she walks away. I try not to make a face.
I've known ichigo since kindergarten. She's always been my friend and I thought it would stay that way.
"I'm sorry", I whisper to myself without her hearing as I turn around and go too.

Later that day

It's finally time for the dance. Our whole class stands in front of the big gym doors. Although there are not very many couples we will still enjoy each other's company and have a good time.
I squeeze zero two's hand.
"Ready"?, I say.
"Ready", everyone says.
We all open the doors to the lit up gym.
