14 years ago, Adrien as a 6-year-old.

"Mommy!," Adrien called. "Can we get croissants?"

"Dear, of course, we can." Emelie said. "and if we're sneaky enough we can walk there."

"Yaayy!" Adrien exclaimed. Emelie chuckled. "Can I wear my black cat rain boots?"

"yes, go get them on dear," Emelie responded.

"Thank you, mommy!" Adrien said as he ran to get them.

....

Emelie was in line to order some croissants from the Dupain-Cheng Bakery. Adrien was with her holding her hand. Suddenly he saw a girl around his age wave at him. He awkwardly waved back at her. Her black hair was tied back with red ties with ladybugs on them. She had bright blue eyes that were sparkling with excitement. She wore a pink shirt with flowers and a cat and a pink skirt. She skipped over to them.

"Hi, My name is Marinette," She said, "What's yours?"

"A-Adrien" Adrien said he wasn't used to talking to anyone else but adults and Chloe.

"What are you getting?" Marinette asked.

"Croissants." Adrien said gleaming, "I love croissants"

"Really?!" Marinette said, "Me too! I helped mommy and daddy make them today!" Adrien's jaw dropped.

"You can make croissants at home?" Adrien asked, awestruck.

"Well, yea! How do you think they're made?" Marinette said, "Mommy and Daddy sell them."

"Wait you live here?" Adrien asked.

"Yup!" Marinette answered.

"THAT AMAZING!!" Adrien exclaimed.

"Yes darling it is but we got to go now," Emelie said kindly.

"Ok mommy," Adrien said, "I got to go Marinette."

"Ok bye Adrien!" Marinette said

"Bye Marinette!" Adrien responded as he ran up to his mom at the door and grabbed her hand. They walked out of the bakery. Adrien squeezed Emelie's hand and expected the normal loving squeeze back but he was responded by limpness. Something was wrong, Adrien could feel it. He slipped his hand out of his mother's and stood still as she continued on. She realized 15 feet later that Adrien wasn't with her anymore

She turned around and said, "Come on, Adrien." and he ran up to her and grabbed her limb hand.  Something was wrong with his mom. Something was very wrong.
