Kai held the ball between her fingers as she looked down at it with curious eyes. After the strange phenomenon she experienced at the park, she made her way back home and went to her room to ask if her best friend Miwa could make any sense of what just happened.

"It just fell from the sky?" Miwa asked through her computer from the video call.

Kai nodded "Yeah, sky turned red and everything."

"Hmm...you think it's some kind of alien or something?" Miwa guessed.

Kai gave Miwa an unamused look as she questioned what goes on in his mind "An alien, seriously?"

"What? You literally told me the sky turned red and a portal opened up. What's so crazy about aliens dropping balls from the sky?" Miwa asked.

Kai sighed "Please don't say it like that."

Miwa laughed and Kai just rolled her eyes as he spoke "Okay, okay, maybe Dan knows what it is. Tell him about it."

"Dan already doesn't like me; I don't want him to think that I'm crazy too." Kai said.

"And that thought never ran through your head when you decided to tell me?" Miwa asked with a smirk.

"You're weird so you'd get it." Kai said dismissively.

Miwa dramatically fell out of his seat as he clutched his heart in pain "The Ice Queen strikes again!"

Kai put the ball down on the table and yawned "I'll have to think about it later, right now I better head to bed."

Miwa sat up with a grin "Alright, see ya tomorrow then. I still gotta catch up on some homework."

"This late?" Kai asked with a raised eyebrow.

Miwa shrugged "What can I say? I'm a procrastinator."

Kai shook her head with a small smile "Goodnight Miwa."

"Night." Miwa waved and the call ended.

Kai turned off the PC then stood up and walked over to her closet, changing into a grey shirt and some shorts. She turned off the lights and crawled into bed, closing her eyes and trying to let sleep envelop her but after a few minutes she found that she was quite restless.

She twisted and turned in bed, trying to find a comfortable position but that was all for naught. She sighed while lying on her side which led to her staring at the ball on the desk. She pulled the covers off and stood up, turning on the lights and the PC, starting to research any clues about it.

"Bakugan?" Miwa asked while looking at the mysterious ball as he walked with Kai.

It was the next day and both Kai and Miwa went through their day as normal but after school Kai wanted to go into town to find a place she had discovered during her research.

"Yeah, it's a game." Kai replied, turning a corner and walking past some stores.

"Is it like an underground kind of game or something?" Miwa asked, tossing the ball to Kai as they stopped.

She caught it without looking, focused on the store in front of them "I think it's pretty popular."

Miwa widened his eyes at seeing the large store. It had a blue sign at the top with the words 'BAKUSHOP' written, glass panes that showcased Bakugan of various colors along with different cards.

Kai entered the shop with Miwa following behind her, causing the bell above the door to ring and inside it was futuristic for the lack of a better word with white floors, walls and shelves as well as different Bakugan on different shelves along with cards and some merchandise.
