Chapter 2 (Evens)
The new apartment was... nice. Moving was nothing new to me, but moving back to where I grew up. That's a completely different story. Looking out of the window, the view looked different from what I remembered the city to be. Maybe it was how I've changed, but things looked more dull and less lively. As if the brightness and color had been drained. I didn't have much furniture, but that was mostly because I sold it. I couldn't bear to have constant memories of her. It wasn't something I deserved. Life decided I didn't deserve her a little to late, so it took her away.

I could smell the rotted wood of their legs throughout the whole room. Somewhere underneath the smell of newly stained wood flooring, there was still a minor whiff that almost resembled the smell of an old house from the 19th century at least. It wasn't particularly a bad smell, just not the new and refurbished smell I was used to.
Within an hour of being in the somewhat (but not really) new apartment, I was already sick of being there. There were too many things to do, I needed to go grocery shopping. Even though it did have appliances, the apartment was still lacking a lot them too. I grew up here, yet I still don't know where anything is.
Today was not exactly going to be fun.
