He never wanted to admit his crush on Y/n because a relationship was just too much to handle on top of being the captain on the volleyball team so he only told Bokuto about it.
He wanted to be with her before graduation so that he could ask her to prom (which was a week after grad) but it's July and graduation was in a week

I was at graduation and was getting ready to leave with my mum when I hear her talking to someone. I look up and see her talking to Y/n's dad and who else is there? Y/n.
We both knew that we had been avoiding one another but this was the first time in a week we had spoken.
''H-Hi Mr.L/n'' I sttuttered, smiling weakly. ''Hi Akaashi! You must be so relieved now that school is over now huh?'' Y/ns dad said.
My social skills are so bad that I didn't even know how to respond to that so I just laughed, very very awkwardly.
''You know what? Are you guys free tonight we would love to have you over!'' My mum said, nudging me to look up.

We walked away and arrived at home. My mum was cooking something really nice downstairs whilst I tried to find something nice to wear.
