The New Girl

Chapter 1.

Leaving Pine Bluff was the best thing that ever happened to me & my moms. There was always someone fighting, somebody getting killed in a gang shoot out & the police on each & every corner there was.

My mom wanted to move to ATL but I wanted to move to Miami Florida with my dad for my last year in High school. Miami was big & beautiful, my dad was rich so he lived in a three story beach house with the best view. I had been there a few times during the summer so I knew what it was like.

I arrived at the airport in Little Rock & hugged my mom for the last time. I gave the woman at the gate my ticket & said my last good-byes to my mom. I got on the plane & took my seat in first class. I posted on Instagram before the plane took off.

We landed in Miami around 1:00 pm. I was on that plane for a long damn time. When I walked out the gate I started looking for my dad & his new wife.

"Audrey Lin!" She yelled with excitement & walked towards me she was wearing a tight black pencil skirt & a red long sleeve silky blouse with the red bottoms that my dad got her for Valentine's day. It was my step mom Valerie Martinez.

"Hey ma, it's good to see you." she gave me a tight hug I could almost feel her breast implants. I laughed at the thought in my head.

"Your dad didn't show because, he's working with the constructor on the basement." she put her arm around my waist & I put mine around her neck "Awh well, let's surprise him."

We walked out the airport & towards the car. My dad's wife's has always been fancy so she was driving the best cars but my favorite was the all black on black Range Rover. Val promised she would buy me one for a graduation present.

We finally arrived at the beach house & of course my room was still the same. Baby blue walls, a king size bed with a baby blue bed spread & all white cases over the fluffy pillows, a walk-in closet with all the clothes imported from Beverly Hills & my own personal his & hers bathroom. I could live in here all I needed was a mini fridge & I would be good.

"Popssss!!" We done our hand shake from when I was a little girl. "My ole' man! How ya been?" He laughed "Audrey Lin, you ain't changed a bit. Well I see your mom got you dressed like you're some kind of homeless boy with these old ass pants." I laughed.

"Well, she ain't have it back then." We laughed & laughed at the thought. My mom didn't have it back then but now she do so my dad has a point there was no reason for me to be dressed the way I was. She didn't buy me anything new because she knew my dad's wife would go all out for me.

I took a tour of the new basement & told my dad it should be a game room. He gave me $1,000,000 to buy the game's for the room. I went all out & ordered the old school video games & arcade games. The designers set the whole room up & it was perfect. All the Xbox's & Playstation's ever made we had. The old school PAC-Man games & the first game ever made for each game system there was. My dad & his wife loved it.

Me & pops played in the game room for damn near three hours making high scores & drinking beer with my father, this was our way of bonding. Val had the chef get snacks for me & my dad's bonding time, I must say It feels like home already.

I was tipsy & ready to crash. The chef cooked some greens, corn bread, rice & fried chicken for dinner. It was delicious, I cleared my plate & went to shower.

The bathroom was huge, it had white walls with bible scriptures written in cursive letters. It had two round sinks as if there were two people living in this room, the bath tub was an original tub from the 90s a low round tub with four curved legs, & a pull down shower head.

I love this place even more than when I came down last summer. I showered then done my nightly hygiene. I threw on a sports bra & a pair of basketball shorts & fell straight to sleep.

- The Next Day -

I woke up excited because today was the day I went & enrolled at Miami High School. I went to the bathroom & done my daily hygiene, I then went into the walk in closet & I pull out my black joggers with a baby blue polo shirt & a pair of Jordan's.

I wasn't really thinking about anything but maybe meeting a girl. The last girl I had was amazing & I truly loved her but we both knew that a long distance relationship wasn't going to work out.

"Audrey Lin?"
"Yes ma?"
"You ready to get enrolled?"
"Yes ma'am."

I sprayed my polo spray & headed out the door with Val.

"Can you drive Audrey?" She stared at me & I started grinning. "Yes, I can." We entered the garage & she told me to pick a car. I chose the Red Audi A3. She handed me the keys & we was out.

"So, I know it's your second day back but how's Miami so far?" She turned on the radio then plugged in her aux cord & Kevin Gates filled the car with his rap music. "It's great. I love my bedroom & the bathroom." She smirks.

"Yes, I designed everything in your bedroom. Your father tried to do some gray as your bedroom paint but that wasn't happening." I laughed "That sounds like my dad."

We pulled up at the High School & I parked right in front. "Nice driving Lin." I grinned. We walked into the school & all I could hear was oohs & ahhs when we walked past the students in the halls. I didn't know if they were looking at me or my step mom.

Val was wearing a tight dark pink pencil skirt & a black silky blouse with a pair of CoCo Chanel heels. We went into the office & Val signed papers while some girls were smiling & winking at me from across the room. I just smiled & turned away, none of them were attractive.

Val finished signing papers & I got my planner, ID card & schedule from the lady behind the desk. Val asked me if I wanted to start today or tomorrow & of course I wanted to spend more time with my dad so I decided to wait.

We left the school & I was starving since I missed breakfast. We drove to Denny's. I ordered a short stack of pancakes, two sausages, a hash brown & two strips of bacon.

"That will be to go please." She ordered herself & my dad some food, she paid then we left the place & went home.

I parked the Audi next to the Range Rover & we headed inside. We sat at the island in the kitchen & ate like a family. I thought about my new school & if I was going to meet any new friends.

"Audrey Lin! Are you listening to me?"
"Sorry, dad what you say?"
"I said I brought you some loud & rello's if you want to smoke."
"For real dad? You the real MVP!" I finished my breakfast & headed to my bedroom. I looked for my tray to roll up.

I fired up the loud & laid back on the bed thinking about my future.
