A lake's memory

This is after I finished the assignment and had no word limit

Walking along the stony path the girl was suddenly overwhelmed by bittersweet melancholy while she remembered all the memories made along the way. Just as she reached the lake, little droplets started falling from the sky blending with the liquid pain running down her hollow cheeks. A pained sob escaped her throat as she clenched her fist around the ring hooked on a chain around her neck. Suddenly her mind drifted to a starry night under a willow tree, a full moon reflected in the crystal like water basking his face in an angelic glow and a soft spoken plea for love and companionship. A thunder snapped the female back to the cruel reality of her life. She would have to learn how to live without him or die trying.
