¹In the beginning, there was nothing. ²But then there was everything. ³Something cannot come from nothing, and all was created by Rana, woven together with attentive fingers; for the earth had no form, the sky had no colour, the ground had no life.
⁴On the first day, Rana said, "Let there be light," and on Their word, there was light. Rana separated the light from darkness, naming the light day, and the darkness night, ⁵and there became morning and evening and afternoon, it was good.
⁶Rana said, "Let there be water, and let it run freely into the ground and allow life to form. And let the sky have colour, for it shall be blue." So the water began to flow, and it seeped into the ground and allowed for life to form. ⁷And on the word of Rana, there was grass which sprung out of the dirt, and there became flowers and trees and stones.
⁸Knowing there must be more life, Rana created fish to swim in the water, and birds to fly in the sky, and bugs and insects to wander the ground. ⁹And Rana, seeing that Their work was good, created larger animals, some with fur, some with feathers, some with scales, ¹⁰and gave each creature They created a distinct feature, a gift to set them apart and make them unique; for the turtle would have a shell, and the zebra would have stripes, and and the cheetah would have incomparable speed. ¹¹And seeing that this was good, Rana created the first human, and gave him the name Adam, and he was created in Their image, formed from the dirt of the ground. Then, there was ¹²created a woman out of the man's rib, and her name was Eve, and she was created in Their image, and it was very good. ¹³They would live in the Garden of Eden, enjoying the fruit of the trees and the water of the river, and the company of each other.
¹⁴Then, Rana put the humans to a test. They told the humans, "This tree in the centre of the Garden must never be eaten from, and you shall not touch it, or you will die." ¹⁵One day, however, the enemy, disguised as a serpent, came to Eve and said, "Is it true that Rana has not allowed you to eat from any tree in the Garden?" ¹⁶And Eve replied, "We may eat from any but the one just in the centre, for if we do, we will certainly die." The serpent responded in a laugh, ¹⁷telling her, "Surely you won't die, perhaps Rana is trying to trick you, for if you eat the fruit of that tree, you shall be like Them, and you will have knowledge of good and evil." ¹⁸Eve fell for this evil trick, and she took a single bite out of the fruit of the tree, and Adam did the same, and they immediately knew they'd made a simple yet dangerous mistake, ¹⁹as the Garden was overcome with darkness, and Adam and Eve were cast out, never to be allowed to return.
²⁰A great poison, sin, had been brought into the world. The humans were ashamed to be naked, and childbirth became painful, and finding food became difficult. ²¹For Rana never breaks a promise, but is still gracious enough to forgive, and loves each person, each animal, each plant that they create, and that does not change.
