"Who do you think is going to try out this semester Kaylee?" My best friend Jessica ask. "I'm not sure, maybe that girl April?" I reply quickly. Today after school is the cheerleading tryouts and seeing as Jessica and I are head cheerleaders, we have to be there. "Well I'm excited, maybe cute boys will come watch us!" Her eyes glisten as she comes up with this idea. "You have a boyfriend Jessica!" I try to suppress a giggle. "Like I don't know that, Kaylee." She starts giggling and it's not long before I join in. Jessica and I have been best friends since 1st grade. She's always been the more obsessed one with boys. Jessica has the charm to have any guy fall at her feet. She has long gold locks of hair, she has brown eyes, she's tall, and she's smart as a bonus. So basically Jessica is the entire package. As for me, I have long brown hair, green eyes and I'm slightly shorter then Jessica. Like the saying says "Every Brunette has to have a blonde best friend." That describes us. "Earth to Kaylee." Jessica says sarcastically. "Yeah, what's up?" I say as I look up at her. " I have been calling you for the past 5 minutes." Jessica snarls. "Sorry, I'm just kinda nervous." I reply shyly. Jessica takes a seat to me. "What are you nervous about?" She asks cautiously. "What if we don't recruit anyone this semester?" I say discreetly. "Why are you worried about that? You know we always recruit at least 2 girls each semester." She replies. " I know, I'm being stupid." I sigh as I get up. "Come on it's time for class." I say sadly. Jessica and I have first period together so we walk to class together every day. As we enter the classroom, Jessica whispers to me "It is way too early to be dealing with Mr. Smiths crap." "Tell me about it." I reply with a long sigh. Class drags on as always. Finally the bell rings signaling we have 5 minutes to get to out next period. Lucky for me, I like my second period. "Bye Kaylee! Love you! Meet me at the wolves for lunch." Jessica says as she walks away to meet up with Jake her boyfriend. "Love you too and okay bye!" I can't help but smirk as I walk away. Jessica and Jake are known as the perfect couple. They truly are the perfect couple, they do everything together. When second period is over, I go over and meet Jake and Jessica at the wolves like we do every day. We go out to our little cafe called Cafe Star. They have the best milkshakes and fries you have ever tasted! After eating and paying for a meal, we return to school and approach the rest of the day that drags on forever. "At least there's cheer tryouts after school." I think to myself as I proceed to my last period of the day.
