Epiloge

The sun had risen. It was a new day in the embrace. Braves and Nora have been about doing their daily tasks as clockwork. Braves returning from their hunts of packs of machines.

A lone strider could be seen in the distance. Dust waving behind its legs like a cloud. A woman can be seen on this strider. But she was not the only person to ride this beast. A baby girl had been her company through this lonesome journey.

Aloy. Anointed of the Nora. The girl who sees the unseen. She goes by many names, but never has she thought of herself as a mother. She never even had a boyfriend for all mothers sake!

Aloy was just doing her rounds, hunting some machines and coroupters that were threatening a small village. When she had just passed a nearby cauldron she heard a strange noise. She decided to investigate the noise. As she neared the door of the cauldron, she prepared her weapon of choice for the worst. What she found was something completely unexpected.

A baby girl.

That was the source of the noise. She had been crying. What intreuged aloy was that the infant was alone. It couldn't have been older that 1 month. Where were its parents? Why was she just left here? Why this cauldron?
Many questions were running through Aloys mind. After a time she decided that best course of action would be to return to the small village she had liberated in search of the infants parents.
When she could not find its parents after what felt like forever she decided to mount her strider and return to the embrace to seek the help of the high matriarch Teersa.
Since the proving years ago Teersa had become a mother figure to aloy over the years. She would always give her advice when she needed it and guide her.

When aloy arrived at all mother mountain she was greeted by many if the Nora. When she eventually found Teersa with the other matriarchs she asked for a moment of Teresa's time. When they were alone she showed the child to Teresa and explained the events of the day to her.

The high matriarchs advice to her was that the child had no parents and if she was not mistaken the child and aloy shared similar origins. Where aloy was found with in all mother mountain at the mouth of the facility of the old ones, the child was found at the mouth of a cauldron of the old ones aswell. The matriarch then proceeded to rant about the child being a blessing to aloy from all mother.
Aloy not hearing any of the ranting was wrapped up in her own thoughts. How do they share the same origins? Why a cauldron? What happend to its parents? Do I take in the baby as my own like rost did with me?

She then thought about rost. The outcast that raised her. Her father figure. It had been so long since his death.

That night when aloy was at her old childhood home with the infant she lay in bed thinking while the baby was sleeping peacefully.

Thoughts were running through her head at a mile a minute. She knew she couldn't leave the child to fend for itself but then she couldn't and didn't know how to be a mother to the child.
It was then when she had made a decision that would change her life...

She would take the child in as rost had taken her in and raised her as the daughter he lost long ago.
