Serkan
Eda Firecracker Yildiz marches towards me purposefully, like her heels are on fire. The sheer determination blazing in her eyes frightens and exhilarates me of equal measure. She looks like an angry bull in a bull fight in Spain, charging the muleta being waved around by the matador.
With her long hair flowing wildly in the wind, she matches towards me with sheer determination etched in her eyes. As they say, discernment is the enemy of delight, and pleasure in its pursuit takes the short cut around logic. Knowing better doesn't always mean we will do better, or the 'right thing'.
The fire that's woven into her kiss melts my irritation and dissolves any sense of resistance or trepidation I might have felt, before her beautiful luscious lips forcefully collide with my slightly parted, slightly parched, and stunned mouth. That kiss is cradled with pleasure and promises, and tastes like what I imagined the forbidden fruit would have tasted.
Is she all bark and no bite or is she a real Pit Bull? Who is Eda Yildiz? Does she realize that she's fighting above her weight class? I admire her tenacity, and her false sense of optimism that she can ruffle my feathers and get me to succumb to her request with the snap of her fingers.
I can seamlessly grant her wish with one simple phone call to my finance manager, or I can make her work for her scholarship, and have some fun doing it. Perhaps we can negotiate, a quid pro quo, if you will, and get what we both want - it's a win-win situation. I have what she wants and she's what I need for 90 days.
Eda needs her scholarship reinstated so she can complete her final year in Architectural Landscaping, and I need a fake girlfriend for 90 days.
My mother, the matriarchal blood hound, has been trying to set me up with Cemre Erdogan, my childhood friend, who's from the same 'pedigree' as me, for as long as I can remember. Her ferocity to complete her lifelong mission of getting me to marry Cemre increased exponentially, when she got wind that Cemre's father called it quits.
He transferred 50 percent of his company shares to her - making her the majority shareholder of Art Life, against my 25% shares in the company. Once Cemre becomes Mrs. Bolat, our combined shares will equal 75% and Engin will possess the remaining 25% of the company shares.
My plan is to have Eda accompany me to our annual family soiree at my parents' out-of-town estate. I'm hoping that bringing my girlfriend to meet my mother, will deter her from carrying on with her tedious 'match made in heaven' obsession. I'm not going reinstate Eda's scholarship but pay for her final year of university in full, with an addition of one year's living expenses, if she pretends to be my girlfriend for 90 days.
I'm fully aware that I will not be able to hold my mother off forever, as far as finding a bride, but my current plan, if nothing else, buys me some time to concoct a more permanent solution to my matrimonial conundrum.
