"Come on. Let's go!" called out Mason, "keep the ball under control."

"Yes, coach!" said the young player in an Irish accent. He was running with the ball, weaving in and out of a line of markers.

"Haha, nice one!" said Mason, praising his student.

"Ok, well done, lads! Today's been brilliant! Let's call it a day," declared Mason, "Tomorrow, we'll be practising our passing skills."

"Thanks, coach!" said the team as they were leaving, "see ya tomorrow!"

Mason gave them a warm smile and waved goodbye. He then got to work on putting all the equipment away.

"Thanks, coach!" came a deeper voice jokingly.

Mason recognised it straight away and his heart skipped a beat. It was the love of his life, Declan, who decided to give him a surprise visit. Mason walked up to him and gave him a kiss.

"The kids seem to like you!" laughed Declan.

"Yeah, they're a good bunch," said Mason, "they put their one hundred and ten percent in every day. Quite a few good wins recently too. You gotta give them credit for all the effort they put in."

"And they have an amazing coach too! Don't forget that," added Declan as he gently placed his hand on Mason's cheek, "I remember how good you were with me at the London Stadium last year."

"How good I was with you? Are you talking about my coaching or my kissing?" said Mason cheekily.

They both laughed, reminiscing their time back in London.

"Not gonna lie, that was both the best and worst night of my life," said Declan, "the night our lives changed forever..."

"Yeah, same here, to be honest," said Mason in agreement, "it was worth it though. I'm so happy being here in Ireland with you and our two boys."

"They've been saying how their friends at school are always on about how they wish they were adopted by two famous footballers too and about their dads always watching me on TV," laughed Declan.

"I don't blame them really," laughed Mason, "you're an amazing pundit. Your commentary is hilarious, haha!"

The sky turned dark and it suddenly started to rain heavily.

"For God's sake!" exclaimed Declan.

They both ran inside.

"This is getting familiar, you know!" joked Mason, "we always seem to get caught out by the rain."

They both laughed, watching the downpour outside. It was bringing back old memories.

"Remember what we said?" asked Declan, "after it started raining at the London Stadium and we ran back inside?"

"We'll always have each other," replied Mason, "no matter what."

Declan placed his arms around Mason's waist and looked deep into his eyes.

"You're the best husband anyone could ever ask for," whispered Declan as he gave Mason a tender, loving kiss.

"I love you, Dec."

"I love you, Mason."
