Chapter 1

Allie's POV

*Ignore any errors*

"Are you serious, Allie?" My brother shouts, already in tears.

This is record time. He usually contains the waterworks until after the girl leaves.

"OMG! James, it's not what it looks like I swear!" says his flavor of the... year? My brother's the broody aspiring artist type so girlfriends are pretty rare.

"REALLY SASHA? CAUSE IT KINDA LOOKS LIKE YOU WERE KISSING MY SISTER!"

Wow he seems really hurt, I think he might have actually liked this girl. Score!!

"I'm so sorry, James. It just happened, I-I think I love her!" she says, not even trying to hide it.

Oh my god it just keeps getting better. At this point James is sobbing shamelessly, which means my work here is done. Time to wrap it up.

"Listen guys, I don't mean to cut things short but I kinda got practice in 20 minutes and need my room cleared out." I flash my cheeky yet charming grin. James runs out of the room a slobbering mess.

"Sarah was it? Do you mind tracking down your ex and asking him to get me some waters?"

"But-but, I LOVE YOU?! WHAT ABOUT US?"

Ugh not again. "Oh Uh? Sorry babes i'm not really looking for anything right now."

She slaps me. Hard. I should've know I was dealing with another smacker. She turns to leave and I gently grab her hand.

"Don't forget the waters." She slams the door in my face. "So I gotta do all the work around here??" I hear my brother's poorly muffled cries. Damn pisces.

I head downstairs to fill my bag with some waters, since no one else could manage, and came face-to-face with my dad.

"Yay, pre-practice intervention. My favorite." He completely ignores my sarcasm.

"Allie, you can't keep doing this to your brother." I playfully frown.

"C'mon dad, you can't get in the way of love. What me and sandy had was special."

"Sasha. Her name is Sasha."

"Huh, maybe thats why she didn't get me waters." I move past him grabbing an apple and taking a bite.

"Allie, this is serious." he says sternly. So sternly that I grab the nearest barstool and sit down. "Why do you keep doing this to James? Is it a dominance thing? Competition? Do you want to hurt him?" I roll my eyes and finish my apple. "Is it for...Validation?" I look up enraged. He knows he struck a nerve. "Wait Allie, I didn't mean-"

"I gotta go." I cut him off and storm out of the house. "He's got some balls bringing that up." I start up my car and begin driving to the school. I try to blow off steam with some heavy metal but it didn't work. " He thinks he knows me soooo well, doesn't he? What does he know? I'll tell you. He knows how to make six different 'teas' from his 12 year 'vacation' in Asia. " I can feel myself overheating. I hate getting like this. I pull off to the side of the road and look around to make sure no one is around before I make my next move. I pick up my phone and shuffle through my secret playlist. "All You Had To Do Was Stay" by Taylor Swift quickly begins to fill my car. It was easier to come out as gay than a swiftie.

After my head was fully leveled , I start the car again and pull into the school." Shit, late again." I hurry to get my stuff and run into the gym.

"You're late, Stevens... again."

"Yeah, Yeah i'll start the extra laps and help the captain."

"Speaking of captain..."

I quickly walked over to my basketball coach. "What about it?" I ask, fully prepared for this long awaited talk.

"As you probably know, our beloved captain, Nora, is graduating tomorrow.  Which means she won't join us for our summer training. Which means we need a new captain. Which means you get the chance to prove yourself. Which means you gotta show up to every practice, game, rally, whatever at LEAST 30 minutes early. Think you got what it takes?"

I quickly respond, "Yes sir! I won't let you down!" He nods and starts to walk away, only to stop and say,

"Oh yeah, you also gotta keep the peace and co-rule with the volleyball captain." He smirks knowing I have no idea who that is.

I sigh but agree and he walks away. I can't believe I have to share power with some tightwad volleyball player. I never really put in the time to figure out her name or who she is but from stuff i've heard, she's gorgeous and super social. When asking where I could find her, everyone said about the same thing. "Around the arm of any jock jerk dude at school." Hmph what a charmer.

-3 hours later-

My last practice before summer training is over. Now I can focus on dealing with my dad and his involvement with my... business affairs. I don't get the big deal, i'm helping James by proving which girls are loyal and which girls are not. It doesn't matter I have to spend all my time on training to be the best now. Unfortunately for James, this means I can no longer provide my services :(
