The moment Bella took a step forward, a presence appeared near her foot.

Funnily enough, it was a candelabra, with three candles comfortably sitting within. The candle in the middle had had a strange face on it, with narrowed eyes and a smirk on its mouth.

Bella let an uneasy smile play on her lips, as she bent down to pick up the candlestick. Right before she touched it, the object backed away.

"Hey! What are you doing?" it asked indignantly.

Bella let out a yelp, tripping over her own feet as she stumbled back, astonished at the talking candelabra. Unfortunately, instead of landing on the soft, woolen rug on the floor, her head hit the edge of the mahogany table at the corner of the room, causing her to immediately succumb to the darkness.

When Bella awoke, she looked at her surroundings in disbelief. Instead of her small yet comfortable bed, she was lying on the cold, hard floor, albeit with a thick blanket shielding her from the cool breeze. Her room's lilac walls were replaced with solid rock walls, trapping her from the rest of the world with the exception of a small window right above her that concentrated the light of the bright sunshine on her face.

The most important difference though, was right in front of her. Instead of the old, creaking yet perfectly functional wooden door, the entrance to this room was covered in bars.

Bella shook her head, trying to reduce the dizziness, only to make it even worse. Why was she in a cell, in an unknown place? What did she do to cause someone to trap her in such a way?

She looked around her in curiosity, hoping that she could find some answers in the empty walls. The exhaustion of an entire day of travel caught up with her though, and instead of setting out to piece her memories back, she drifted into a fitful sleep.
