It's just a day before hallows eve,
And I wake up at midnight;
I stare at the endless sky,
To see nothing, but a single star.
Glimmering, glistening, and waiting....
So ... far .... Yet, so close,
Just like you are to me.
I kept telling, you were mean and heartless,
Spiteful, foul, and vile;
Just another death eater unjust an' cruel,
Not worth sparing a thought.
ii.
But I had failed to let you go,
Though I tried I really did.
The sullen boy from spinners end,
Who told me of my powers.
My thoughts wonder and I let them go,
To those days I cherish;
Hearts pure as morning breeze,
Lives reckless and free;
The way we sat abide the river;
When you told me of magic.
You who told me it didn't matter,
Pure blood, half blood or not;
Hogwarts will be always there,
To welcome us as home.
Bubbling cauldrons, owls, and wands,
Brew glory or to bottle fame;
Hogwarts grounds and forbidden forest,
Nifflers, toads and dragons.
You told me of all wonders and magic,
Showed me a whole new world;
I asked if this all was real,
You said "It's real for us"
iii.
What had changed, between those years?
Weren't we meant to be friends?
You chose your path,
And I've chosen mine,
In a war we fight each other.
Black silk robes and,
A death eater's mask,
It's not you behind those;
Far from perfect,
But clever and tactful;
Yet more brave at heart.
Find yourself again, one day;
I'll be there, to greet you with a hug,
And to tell you, you'll always be my friend,
Through this life and beyond.
Love,
Lily
