"Two souls don't find each other by simple accident."Chapter 2. Partners.
As promised, Tuesday was boring. Louis had history, algebra and PE. They played football which he did enjoy, it felt like no time had gone by. He also started talking to this guy, Zayn. Nice lad, who played on his team during the game. He told Louis about the football team and how they have practice on Mondays and Wednesdays, and their usual home games are on Saturdays. Louis got to thinking. Why not start again? It might be a great way to get to know more people at school. He decided that he would stop by for their practice tomorrow, just to check it out.
When he got home, he was soaking wet. Good thing he wore his blue rain jacket because it had been raining the whole day. Louis sighs. "Raining on a Tuesday, how is it possible for something to be so bleak and depressing?" He shivers and begins to take off his now, navy blue jacket.
"Hello, love! How was school?" Jay joyfully shouts from the kitchen.
"Hi mom, it was good. How come you're home so early?" Louis calls back a bit surprised. He hadn't seen his mom since Sunday. They tend to round each other as their schedules never seem to mesh.
Jay comes out to the hall and gives her son a big hug. "I got to go home a bit earlier, but I still have some work to do." She sighs and points to her work computer. Jay sees Louis' fading smile. "But at least I'm home, right Lou?" She assures him and puts her hand against his still wet and cold cheek. He nods and smiles.
"Maybe you can head down to the supermarket down the street?" Jay suggests as she walks over to her brown leather purse. Louis remembers when she got that bag. It was a gift from him and his sister Lottie. She loves it and will probably wear it till it disintegrates into dirt.
She gives him a twenty and Louis is about to grab it out of her hand, when she tightens her grip around it. "I want the change back, ok?" Louis rolls his eyes in response. He chooses another jacket that is slightly warmer. It's in a horrible, horrible pukish-green color, but who is he going to bump into? The queen? He puts it on and heads out of apartment 17 and onto the London streets below.
The rain had no mercy and he swears to himself as he wishes that he would've brought a bloody umbrella. Louis gives out a quick chuckle when he reads the tiny supermarket's slogan. 'We might be small, but it's what's on the inside that counts!' He walks to the entrance and hears a familiar bell as he strolls through the door.
"Hello!" The cashier greets Louis with a smile and Louis nods and smiles back. He picks up the small grocery list his mom handed him. Milk, butter, wholewheat bread, apples, cinnamon and chamomile tea. That shouldn't be too hard to find, he thinks to himself. He shrugged his shoulders and headed even further back into the store. It turns out it's bigger than he thought. Louis grabs the milk and butter, then he hears the doorbell ring again. He doesn't think much of it and continues to the bread section.
"Yes, mom. Yeah, I-I'm at a supermarket right now as we speak."
Louis freezes for a second. He slowly turns his ear to the wall to hear the voice better. Although he already knows who it is. There is only one person that has such a handsome and slow way of talking. It's Harry from school. Louis didn't see him today. He did see Andrea walk past him in the hallway, but that's not the part of the duo that he was longing to see. Louis panics and before he can think out a plot to avoid him, Harry ends up by his side. Damn, he's fast, did he teleport himself here?
"Hi, Louis." Louis turns around to face him. Oh no, the vile, green jacket. Louis wants to take it off, but he has the milk in one hand and the butter and bread in the other.
