"And here you go sir!" You smiled at the customer in front of you as you handed him is flowers. "Good luck with the lucky guy!"
The male smiled and bowed. "Thank you!" He left the store, leaving you alone in the shop.
You sighed. You still had people in town you needed to deliver flowers too, and the sun was going down, almost like it was mocking you on how much time you had left in the day.
"I'll get the flowers put together tonight, and deliver them first thing in the morning?" You shot that idea down immediately. "No, the flowers will be somewhat wilted."
You shook your head, groaning. "I just have to do it tonight."
You started with the first order. "Dahlia, Red Tulips, and Purple Lilacs." You huffed. "Okay."
You picked up the appropriate amount of dahlia, red tulips, and purple lilacs and twisted them together, making a beautiful bouquet. Dahlia for forever, Red Tulips for undying love, and Purple Lilacs for first love.
"And finished." You held up the bouquet and fixed whatever didn't seem right. "Lucky gal. You have yourself a nice girlfriend."
You smiled, putting the bouquet in your basket. "Now to go to the house." You picked up a note that had the address written on it, and memorized it. You put the note down, giving the shop one more look to make sure everything was just as it should be.
"Time to go." You left the area behind the counter and locked up the building as you left it.
You were the only Flower Shop in this town, as well as the only one in the next town over. Many people from both towns often came into your shop, which was good for business. You never had to worry about any sort of competition, all the the flowers shops that people tried to make failed in the first year. People liked your shop.
You were lonely though. You were the only one who worked in the shop, and you were single. All of your boyfriends left you for someone else, or ghosted you out of the blue. You kept a lock on your heart the second time that happened, so the third and fourth time that happened didn't affect you as much at it would've.
You walked down the street, waving hello to the other townspeople, even stopping to chat with some of them.
The conversations never lasted long. They knew that you had places to be. You were a busy person.
Your pace quickened as the suns rays started to brighten. The sun was setting, and you knew not to be out at night. The disappearances only proved your point. You did not want to be the next one to disappear.
You bumped into somebody in front of you, dropping the basket and making the flowers fall everywhere. You inhaled quickly.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" You said, bowing.
The male in front of you crouched down and started picking up the flowers that fell from your basket.
"No worries." He had said, putting the flowers in your basket. He looked into your eyes. "Say, what's your name?"
A slight blush dusted your cheeks. "Y/n L/n."
"Sanemi Shinazugawa."
You chuckled to yourself. "Nice to meet you Sanemi-kun, but I need to deliver this flowers and they live halfway across town."
Sanemi blinked. "I'll escort you there."
You were surprised. This was the first time a male had wanted to do anything for you.
"Uh, okay." You rubbed your arm, letting him lead the way, even though you had never seen him around town.
You had only seen his face for a brief moment, and all you saw as scars.
Sanemi had white hair, and he was wearing a white haori. A katana was attached to his belt, his left hand resting on the hilt.
Soon, the both of you reached your destination. He waited on the dirt path for you, him only making sure the demon roaming these parts wouldn't coming for the only other person in the streets.
You smiled at the lady at the door, receiving the payment that she promised you.
"Thank you, and you have a nice night." You smiled her before she shut the door. You left the porch, going back to where Sanemi was.
"Are you going to escort me back to my shop now? Or are you going to go do your own things?" You asked, pausing your movement to stop in front of the scar riddled man.
He looked down at you. "I am going to have too, its not safe at night."
You frowned. "Fine."
He looked away, retracing his steps back to your shop. It was weird to see him going to your shop, you had never seen of this man around the town, and it was very weird on how he knew this place like the back of his hand.
Another man landed in front of Sanemi, making him stop in his tracks. His hand tightened on his swords hilt, you peaking out from behind him to see why he stopped.
There was a man standing in the middle of the road, katana also strapped to his waist. He had a haori spilt in half, one side a shade of red, and the other a pattern of green, yellow, and a little bit of blue on the other half.
He looked at Sanemi with almost dead eyes, his blue pupils flicking to you before it went back to the male in front you.
"Escorting somebody Shinazugawa-kun?" The taller man asked, a smirk on his lips. Sanemi tis'ed, glaring at the man.
"There's a demon running around, I don't want another victim in the hands of the fucking thing." He responded coldly.
The man narrowed his eyes at Sanemi, his smirk disappearing. "I haven't seen nor heard the demon around here," He said changing the topic. "Must be in a different part of the town."
"Excuse me." You said, stepped out from behind Sanemi. "Can I go back home? I feel like I'm intruding in on this conversation."
The man in front of you turned his gaze onto you. You froze, not expecting his cold stare to latch onto you.
"Shinazugawa-kun, lets finish this job quickly." He ignored your words, you face falling when you heard his.
"Not until this woman gets home safely, Tomioka-kun." Sanemi said. You thanked him silently, him making no acknowledgment of what you whispered.
He closed his eyes. "Fine. But make it quick, we don't have all night."
Sanemi started walking again, you trailing after him. You didn't exactly like the new guy standing in the middle of the street, both him and Sanemi had a weird vibe to them.
The both of you reached your flower shop much quicker than you expected, Sanemi stopped suddenly (again), making you bump into him, again.
He didn't say anything as you opened the door to the shop, and turned around to speak to him. By the time you did, he was gone.
You frowned. "I wanted to say thank you." Your whisper carried in the wind, only Sanemi hearing the sentence.
