Regular Life episode 41: Showdown at Dino Dig Site

While exploring a dinosaur dig site after Chad halts Avalanche, the group encounters a large muddy Tetrapodophis, who challenges Ioni to a battle.

When Ioni loses, leaving her sore and muddy, she is determined to win in a rematch. And with the help of a secret weapon by Taurus, she could possibly win.

Chapter 1: Dino Dig Site

The original plan was to go back to Quest Camp after reconciling with Mordecai and Rigby. But Chad had better plans for Avalanche as he noticed that both Jeremy and Ioni were asleep on her back.

"Avalanche," Chad said to the bird. "I see something shiny down there. I'd like it if we could check it out."

Avalanche looked a little confused. But after seeing that Chad was in control and that Jeremy was still exhausted from that lake monster fight, she had no choice but to listen to Chad and fly towards the shiny thing below.

When Avalanche alighted on the ground, Chad got off of her and shook Jeremy and Ioni awake.

"Jeremy, Ioni, wake up," Chad said to his sleeping comrades. "You have to see this."

Jeremy and Ioni both yawned and saw where they were. This wasn't Quest Camp.

"We will return shortly," Chad said to Avalanche. "You rest up."

Avalanche fluffed up her feathers and went to sleep.

"Where are we, Chad?" Jeremy asked his friend as they were exploring their rest stop. "You're at Dino Dig Site, good sir," said an animal, in a South African voice. He was carrying a pickaxe. But that wasn't all he was carrying. He was carrying a piece of gold which he dug up.

"Is that a gold nugget?" Chad asked the creature, admiring it. "Why yes," the creature said, putting the pickaxe down. "I'm Maxis the tenrec."

"I'm Chad," said the brushtail possum. "And that's my friend Jeremy and that bear is his adopted daughter, Ioni." Then he set his eyes on the gold nugget that Maxis was holding. "I love that gold nugget and I was wondering where you found it," said Chad. "I dug it up," said Maxis. "They're easy to find actually. But you guys better be careful. There are dangerous dinosaurs roaming around this site."

"Leaguegend is full of dinosaurs," said Jeremy. "They won't hurt you." "You mean The Guardians of Leaguegend?" asked Maxis. "I've heard of that place. In fact, all my life I've wanted to live there. But on my way there, I was captured by pterodactyls and taken here. This dig site is riddled with mean dinosaurs. So despite all that, I've made a living just digging up what I can find. The best example would be these gold nuggets."

"Could I have one?" Chad asked Maxis. "Sure thing," Maxis said, giving Chad some gold nuggets. "They'll do well here," Chad said, placing the gold nuggets in his pocket.

"So you want to leave this place?" Jeremy asked Maxis. "I wish I could," sighed Maxis. "But I'm being watched by the ruler of this site."

"Who's the ruler?" asked Ioni. "I'll talk to him. Is he that large pterodactyl?" She asked, pointing at the pterodactyl in the sky. "No, not Screechadon," said Maxis. "He's a good pterodactyl and he leaves this place only to find fresh water for us to drink, since the spring water here is tainted." "The water isn't fresh?" asked Ioni.

Suddenly, a dinosaur appeared from behind a rock and joined up with Maxis. "The water is like that because of our ruler," he said. "He has polluted the spring, contaminating it with his body. He did it so we have no water to drink. Unless Screechadon flies out of here to search for water for us to drink, we have nothing. And yes, our ruler is an experiment of Masiti. You see, I was an experiment too. But I was deemed a failure."
