The Wonders Of Lunae

[ENTRY 1]

To those who may read this,

Greetings, my name is Fabian Elrod. Age 25. I am a researcher that resides in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Though, this is no longer the case.

A few years back, I created a sort of device that's meant to pick up traces of strong energy. This device was meant to find and trace strong power sources that are hidden from the public eye. This, it didn't do. I immediately assumed the device was broken and left it at that.

I was proven wrong when it picked up a trace of energy just three months ago, it appeared just a few kilometers outside of my town. The beeping of the device had startled me from my work back then.
It took me around 2 months to locate that what caused the sudden awakening of my device. It was so small that I'm still surprised to this day that I found it. Maybe it was fate that I laid my eyes upon it.
It was a small golden crystal that emitted the strong energy I've been looking for. It fascinated me that such a small object emitted such immense energy, so I spent all my free time researching it. I tried finding every single secret the object had. I performed every experiment I could think of at the time.

In the first few weeks, it didn't react at all to any of the experiments I performed on it. Though I realized that the crystal floated, which instantly proved to me that isn't just an ordinary crystal. I was tempted to sell the crystal to higher researcher labs, as I needed the money, but I had resisted the urges. I never truly figured out if that was the right call or not. Instead, my curiosity had only peaked and I continued my experiments.

Nothing I did seemed to work on the crystal. It simply resisted everything I did.

That was until the week of the full moon, a few days ago. The crystal's power started growing stronger and it glowed brighter than it had any other day before. Of course, my curiosity had grown to a higher level, so my researches increased along with it. I tried taking the power from the crystal, such power would be useful, but my attempts left me empty-handed. The energy was stubborn and kept locked away in the crystal.

The day of the full moon, 2 days ago, was when it all went wrong. Maybe wrong isn't the right way to describe it, but I cannot think of another word to describe the events that transpired that night.
The crystal had emitted a sort of power I had never seen before. Its glow had peeked more than ever. Being the researcher I am, I refrained from leaving my lab and instead kept close to the crystal to study it. The crystal's power grew at a fast pace and quickly got out of control. It broke the power sources around it and nearly caused an explosion. In my last attempts to stop the energy from exploding in my lab, I touched the crystal. I don't remember what happened after, I must have passed out.

I woke up in this place after and the crystal has merged itself to my chest. I tried to remove the crystal multiple times but it doesn't seem to budge. I have since given up on my attempts to remove it.
At first glance, I thought I woken up somewhere in the forest around my town but this doesn't seem to be the case. What I have woken up in appears to be an entirely different world than my own. The creatures that reside in this world are different than back on Earth, some share similarities to those back home but others look entirely different. They're unlike I've ever seen before.

I have yet to encounter any humans or other creatures I can communicate with.

The plants look different as well. The trees are taller and more lively, and there's a bigger variety of colors in the plants. There's also some sort of magical touches to some plants, it appears that water floats around some of them, or they simply glow on touch.
What I find interesting, though, is how fresh the air is. The air now is what I assume is how the air would be if we never started destroying our planet with various gasses and oils. This may also explain why the sky is so bright at night. When the nighttime arrives, the sky is filled with beautiful colors and stars, if you look closely you can sometimes see other planets. It is a magnificent sight, I can say that for certain.

Anyway, the device that spotted the crystal in the first place appeared alongside me when I arrived in this world, but the device can no longer perform its original purpose. It instead only shows this app when I open it. I have tried opening works of other people but every book I open reveals a blank page. I assume this world doesn't allow me to read them. All I can do is write my own books, so that is what I will do.

I will write down anything I find about this world, any information I come across will be noted down. I'm not sure if anyone can read it. If I have any contact with my world, but I hope that in some way this journal crosses over to Earth and that I can reach people and inform them. Maybe, once I come in contact with someone on Earth, someone can help me find a way to return home. Until I do, I will continue to explore this world.
