FEW WEEKS OF Richard's return from Sweden, he'd got his father's business in order and its productivity chart to its zenith. He relaxed a little but with his eyes and mind on Princeton on his son.
After a week, each day, he visited the restaurant where he always stayed for an hour or less. The owner still refused to tell him her name even though she formally referred to him as Richard.
Richard finally met with James and two other men of his to learn of the results of their mission of spying on his mother at the restaurant.
"Do you conclude my mother is on Princeton's side?" Richard asked at the end.
"It seems so, Sir", James replied. "Based on her call history and what I got from her driver..., I'd say yes. They're working together".
Richard bit his lip and leant back in the couch. He thought for a while before speaking. "Well-done", he nodded at them, "You can take some rest now. You too, James". He laced his fingers as James left with the two men.
Alone, he sighed.
If Amelia was against him and on Princeton's side, he'd just have to confront her then. But he had to make sure his father's attorney was on the good and safe side first. On no side, to be precise.
Someone cleared a throat in front of him, pulling him out of his thoughts and he raised his head to see his friend. He received a smile which he returned.
"Honestly, I'm not gonna talk to you today if you don't let me know your name", he said as she slowly sat opposite him. "If I get your number, what do you want me to save your name as?"
"Friend!" She said with a shrug and chuckled at her own words.
"Who does that?"
She laughed and wetted her lips. "You can start", she laughed again. Okay, alright..., my name... is..., uh, I'm Phyllis".
"What?"
"Phyllis! Phyllis Cypher".
"Phyllis...? Phyllis... "
"What? My name rings a bell?"
"Do you have a Greek background?"
She raised an eyebrow. "Do I look Greek to you?"
"But it does have a Greek background... Princess Phyllis..., I don't know much about her though". He placed his chin on his fist and began to smile at her. "Phyllis..."
"See? Everyone thinks my name is —"
"Unique! It is unique, of course".
"Whatever, just stop daydreaming".
He cleared his throat and leant close to her. "So..., how is that idea I gave you?" He asked, "I see more customers than that of yesterday and last week".
She shrugged slightly. "I made the password free for a week and..., now it's only $5".
"That's kinda cheap".
"That's the price of a BLT burger".
"So, how do you thank me?"
