Warnings: emotional roller coaster and Ben's death... but it's pretty wholesome...

*two days ago*
Noone's POV:

"Y/N!!! Get out! The buildings collapsing!!" Five yelled as he blinked all over the building looking for y/n.

"NO! Ben can still live—I just need more time...I can save him! I—i just can't loose my best friend!" Y/n cried between sobs.

"Y/NN! Your powers aren't fast enough!! You'll end up killing yourself too!!" Five yelled desperately. "We can't loose two members in one mission—especially the two people I love!!"

"I can't leave him, not here!! Not like this...he doesn't deserve it!!" Y/n cried, desperately trying to save her brother—her best friend.

Whoosh

"I'm sorry princess, but I can't loose you too..." Five as he pulled y/n into his strong arms. "NO! Let me go!" she cried but he didn't loosen up.

Whoosh

Y/n's POV:

We were now outside, I tried so hard to get out of Five's grip, but he wouldn't budge. "Please, just let me get him! O—or just GO get him!!" I cried with more pain than desperation because Ben's fate was now clear...

"I'm sorry, but it's too late...I'm so sorr—"Five got stopped by the loud crashes from the building now in shambles.

"NOO!!! BEN!!"I sobbed!! I let out a scream of agony... he was gone... I couldn't save him...

* present*
"Today, we're here united in honor of Mr. Ben, who has sadly passed away 2 days ago. Now, your father will share a few words." Pogo said seeming gloomy.

I stayed silent. I missed him-and i couldn't save him... I gave all my siblings the silent treatment. I was mad at them, they didn't even try to help me save him. But I was probably more mad with myself for not being there for Ben when he's always been there for me.

Five must've noticed my tear-stained cheeks because he held my hand and rubbed my palm with his thumb-something him and Ben would do to comfort me whenever I was crying. It always made me feel better and even this wasn't an exception.

"This world is full of good people; heroes with the desire, talent, and ability to help others." Reginald started. I could easily tell that this would go South real quick. "However, you are no such people. I'm highly disappointed in all of you—especially you, number eight! For even as your power is to revive the dead, you couldn't save your own brother."

Five scoffed as I felt more tears fall out of my eyes...

"You have all failed me, the Umbrella Academy, and your own brother! Let this feeling, this guilt take over you so that there won't be a next time!" Reginald continued coldly.

I felt Diego and Five boil with anger. "It wasn't our fault!!" Diego yelled. "Or y/n's!!"

"He's right—it wasn't her fault! All she did was try to sav—"Five added until he got cut off.

"Excuses!? I will not hear them!" Reginald scolded. "Training will be canceled today in respect of your brother. We will resume training tomorrow at 6 AM like usual."

*20 minutes later*

Just like I predicted, everyone was gone. Like always, they argued and ended up parting ways. I was sitting by Ben's coffin talking to him. "I'm sorry they couldn't even stay united for your own funeral... but I'm here—I always will be, like you were for me." I said tearing up.

Five's POV:

She stayed. Just like I knew she would. Everybody else was gone—except for me and her. I walked over to her. "You know, you were always his favorite sibling... he'd always talk about how kind, sweet, friendly, and comforting you were to him, our siblings, and others and even me." I said sweetly.

Without raising her gaze from Ben's coffin she said, "He loved you too, you know... he'd always say that if anything happened he'd trust you with his valuables..." in her sweet, yet broken voice.

"I know... which is why I took you from him... he always told me to take care of you. To do everything I could to keep you safe and happy. You were his little ray of sunshine... and he always told me you were his hero!"

She lifted her head, her gaze meeting mine. "You saved him! And he always thought you deserved the world for it—which you do!" I continued.

She started tearing up. "I miss him so much Five! H-he didn't deserve it! I love him so much and now I have to live the rest of my life without my best friend..." she cried breaking down.

"He'll never meet our future kids... he won't see us together—even though he was the first that knew and shipped us... why? Why him!?!" She continued.

I hugged her tightly. "It's okay princess... he's always with us... and he'll see all those things—from the sky.. he's our guardian angel, doll. And he'll make sure we're safe at all times." I reassured her.

I held her in my arms till she fell asleep and I blinked us to my room. I laid her down and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"He's watching over us princess... we'll get through this together. He doesn't want you to be sad, he knows it's killing you inside but he knows your a warrior and that you'll make it..." I whispered to her. I knew she was asleep but she knows this... Ben would always tell her things like this...

A/n: First, this idea just randomly came to my mind while organizing my drawers and I couldn't shake it off, so I wrote it on paper and this is the final product!! I'm really proud of it and I may or may not have cried myself making it... hope you enjoyed! Summer break is near, so hopefully, I'll be able to write more often! Love you lil' coffee beansss! <33
