The summer sun was scorching. Sweat dripped from my forehead as I walked up the mound and sat under the shade of a tree. The grass felt pricky and damp. I looked at my wrist watch and it was almost noon. I haven't eaten anything for the past 36 hours and my body felt exhausted from the travel. I let my shoulders slump and rested the back of my head on the tree. Everything that happened in the last 10 hours seemed like a blur. I closed my eyes and let the feelings resurface. Alana. The way she closed her eyes and smiled when the breeze hit her face and ruffled her russet hair kept flashing in my mind. She was the reason. The reason I smiled after so long. The reason my heart healed. The reason I felt alive. From the blazing sun to the waning moon, everything felt beautiful when she was around. But now everything meant nothing. I am sure my heart can't take another break. The scars Riya left have barely healed and now I can't let that happen again with Alana too. I neither know how I am going to explain myself to her when she walks out here nor the way she'll react. But the one thing that I am certain about is that I want her. Without her my heart is doomed.
