Chapter 1: First Day of Work
Keisha POV:
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
I rolled over on the bed and press the alarm off. Today was one day that I actually wanted to get up early and do something. Today will be my first day at work. I went to school for all this time and now it is finally paying off. I'm a nurse and doing something I love to do.
As I get up off the bed my boyfriend Todd tries to get me to come back to bed.
"Baby come back to bed"
"I can't it's my first day of work. I don't think that being late will make a good impression"
"Fine. I might as well get up too and make you breakfast"
"Aww thanks baby. I'll be in the shower"
When I get in the shower I feel like it is my thinking time, and now I have time to reflect. My life right now is really good. I have a good life. I have a loving boyfriend of two years; that I meet in college, and we have been going strong ever since. I finally feel like my long years of schooling have paid off and now I am going to be a nurse. My family and friends love me and I love them.
Everything is pretty much perfect right now.
I get out the shower and get ready for work. I put on my uniform and straighten my hair put it up in a ponytail, and make my way to the kitchen.
There I see my boyfriend Todd sitting my plate down on the counter today he made eggs, bacon, and toast. Nothing big, but I knew that if he tried to make something big then it wouldn't have turned out as good and it would have been burnt.
I finish my breakfast, and started to get all the things that I need in order to go to work. I say bye to Todd, and give him a kiss goodbye, and head down to my car.
I get in and I was about to start the car when I got a call from my friend Morgan. Morgan and I have been friends since kindergarten, and I can honestly say that we are like sisters.
"Hey"
"Hey what's up bestie"
"Nothing much"
"Oh okay well I remember you telling me that you started your first day of work today and I wanted to call and say good luck"
"Aww thanks Morgan"
"Welcome"
"Well I gotta go I'll call you later on tonight"
"Ok then, bye"
"Bye"
I started the car up and then went off to work.
When I get there I'm greeted by other staff members. Nurses and doctors, and they all seem pretty nice. I walk into the staff lounge room, and put my stuff in my locker when another nurse walks in.
"Hey you must be the new nurse that everyone is talking about"
"Um yeah, Hi i'm Keisha, nice to meet you"
"Hi I'm Reggie, and it's nice to meet you to"
He smiled at me as he shook my hand, and I couldn't help but smile back. His smile just seemed so perfect and his eyes were this beautiful brown color.They just looked so warm. He started laughing, and I soon found out that I was just staring at him. I soon retracted my hand from his..
"Um well I better go. Gotta figure out what to do"
"Yeah, well I'll see you around Keisha"
"Yeah"
Well that was awkward. I walk out the lounge staff room and soon start off my day.
