Choi Beomgyu knew he was nothing but a poser. Though you'd never think it through his many veils and lies, his little heart was as if a glass were on the brink of shattering.

However, concealed to the bare eye exactly the way he'd prefer it.

Life has never been generous to Beomgyu, being born into a doomed family was his fate and it'll be a part of his life till the end of time.

Having a drunken father whose addiction started with a glass or two on a saturday night that turned into two or three bottles a day, now to who knows how many bottles a day while dabbling into drugs in growing speed, his father's personality worsening with every sip of his bottle becoming nastier by the minute. In addition to that was his mother, a narcissistic women who only thought of herself in his childhood days, throwing all responsibilities out the door including Beomgyu, leaving as his father's addiction started to get worse.

Whether he'd like to admit it or not, he always knew his mother was the only stable and earning person in the house, so with her leaving, him and his father were left to die with little to no money, and soon it dawned on his father, Choi Donghyuck that they needed food to survive or perhaps it was the need of alcohol that drove him who knows, but that was the start of his father's drug business. Not a very successful one but it did provide bread.

Beomgyu didn't know when and how his father's labour turned into his, constantly getting wrapped up into his dad's dirty business, becoming a drug dealer of his own. High school was his first time, junior year to be exact. Coming home from school just to be greeted by the sight of his passed out dad on the couch while the TV played static noise, with nothing but cans of beer in the fridge causing his hangry self to snap which lead to fights, in the end leaving him with a black eye and a bag of coke to sell.

The deal was to prove that he was more capable than his father could ever be, his ego blinded him and he didn't understand then that his father would take advantage of his 'capability' and use him for providing soon after.
But Beomgyu wasn't born a fool, knowing his stingy father all too well he started to take his cut from whatever he sold, it was only fair.

While most others were born into families who could provide financial stability, good housing and health, had a chance at life, the fact that he wasn't always gnawed at him, he had been given a life which was destined to fail. He never had the chance to prosper, he never once had to fear being a disappointment because no one expected excellence from him. His life had disappointed him instead, because sadly he did expect excellence from it.

During his senior year of high school, his father stopped paying for his school believing that school isn't all that and that being a drop out isn't so bad just look at him! Beomgyu laughed at his face. He didn't want to end up like his dad, a junky hobo.

He had a dream, a life he wanted to live which was only in reach if he took hold of his life with his own hands, he wasn't born a winner but he refused to be a quitter.

Since then he started to work hard, looking and applying all over for scholarships to finally find one which fit his needs, he studied hard as well as juggling his dad's business to hide his cuts from it to pay for school to finally graduating from high school and successfully getting the scholarship to a national university, for the first time he felt true satisfaction. It fed into his ego, that he was indeed capable and he loved it.

And to his dad's dismay he couldn't do anything about it. He knew his son was growing and would soon fly out of the nest the second he gets the chance and all he'd be left with would be empty cans of beer and he was damn right. Beomgyu eagerly awaits for the chance to bolt.

His school life wasn't any different, yeah he was capable of making friends grateful he atleast knew the knack of it but he never managed to experience true friendship, not until his only longest lasting friend came along, HueningKai, whom he met in high school. But alas a sick feeling inside of him made it's home and that was envy.

All his years he's had friends come and go as he went up a grade and that only changed when senior year came along and he met Huening in art class, messing up a simple sketch of an apple, he still remembers the fond memory which causes him to smile at his hardest of times, yet under all that, the envy in his heart remained, he envied everyone he knew whether brief or not.

No one suffered as much as he did. No one could top the amount of shit he's been going through and will continue to do, and he knew that for a fact.

He's 22 years old now, he managed to maintain a solid group of friends who share his same major, and his dearest friend, Kai who attended the same university in a different major by chance. He didn't feel as miserable as he did at home since his coping mechanism played along better as he grew. He believed, why let the world see what's within you when you have the power to paint over it with whichever colour you like.

His life at home remained unwavering, his father still a drunkard who had him do his dirty work sitting on his ass all day, but he chose to look at the bright side of it all, the money.

His savings were slowly growing and no one could do anything about it. He's getting ready to fly.
