"eleven brothers? what could possibly go wrong?"

the all-natural bustling airport's hallways which led y/n to the exit felt eerie as everything went in slow motion - for her, that is. time seemed to tick languidly and her legs fell wobbly with every step she took, making every passing person look as if they're zooming past her snail-like figure in the speed of light. she couldn't care less about her surroundings either anyways. how could she when she's too preoccupied with her raging emotions that's basically eating her soul up like thousands of ants frantically feasting over an abandoned sugar cube?

y/n's heart continued to madly throb as she halted from her tracks and stood at a corner with the hopes of calming it down at least. withdrawing her hand from her luggage and desperately grasping her chest with it, she heaved the deepest sigh ever and paced around in circles as if coming face to face with that person bound to fetch her from the place was such a big deal. well, to the lass, it was the biggest deal of all deals possible in her lifetime.

mayhaps she's exaggerating? she's already asked herself the same question for more than a dozen times yet the fact that her late father whom she adored and thought she knew her whole life just unveiled the most controversial secret through a letter days after his funeral had the word "exaggerating" rather weak.

"you're moving to paris.. your brothers are waiting for you, they'll take care of you..", she rambled the two phrases on and on, secretly hoping that if she chanted them plenty enough, they'd get jinxed and she'd stir awake from this godforsaken night terror and everything will be back to normal-- where her dad was still alive and kicking and she was still in seoul and she was an only child and she was going to go munch on her all-time favourite froot loops x nutella combo under the comfort of her much adored cartoon shows. she had to pinch herself for the umpteenth time for yet another reality check.

"face it, y/n. he's gone, it's been a week now.", she straightened her posture almost too comically that she startled the two people who were peacefully sauntering next to her whom she paid no mind to. "sure.. he kept something so big all for himself and that makes him a jerk but he had his reasons..", she rambled further and groggily dragged her belongings with her as she went on walking, almost reaching that one exceptionally crowded area where people awaited for the freshly dropped passengers' arrival.

there it was again, that fleeting moment where everything around her stalled. memories of her blissful and fulfilling life in south korea flashed before her like the opening credits to a marvel movie and she was too caught up in the moment to notice that a tear had trickled down her cheek followed by a raspy unfamiliar voice of a man who uttered her name in a way she knew she'd strangely want to listen to more often.

"small, vacant expression, raven hair, denim jacket.. you're exactly what uncle marc mentioned, y/n.", the lass broke off from her sullen daze, her coffee bean coloured orbs finding his at an instant. the man towered over her and y/n couldn't help but take a step back out of intimidation. saying the man was drop dead gorgeous had to be an understatement but the mere realization that he was a literal giant made her want to dig her father from the grave and demand the poor man for answers- why the hell did he not sprinkle some of the growth genes her way? has she already mentioned how he was drop dead gorgeous?

"woah there- i'm not gonna hurt you, kitty.", he erupted into a fit of chuckles as he too took a step however bringing it forward, the total opposite of what she did. with the warmest grin he could muster, he held his hand out for a shake, wanting to spread his arms and just scoop her up in the spot but y/n might've wanted something not so touchy for the first meeting. "i'm younghoon, one of your brothers."
