The entire bus was so loud from other students talking, while I sat in silence.
Someone slid into my seat.
"Hey, you okay?" a male voice said.
I flinched, not expecting it.
I quickly pulled my skeleton mask back on. I had pushed it atop my head, since it was getting hot.
I didn't want anyone to see what I looked like, because I didn't apply makeup today.
I turned around. "Uh...hi," I responded.
He smiled and held out his hand. "Hi, I'm Levi. What's your name?" he asked.
I panicked for a second. I usually didn't talk to people, so I had no idea what to do.
I finally calmed myself down. I decided not to tell him my name.
I shook his hand. "I'm...Kayla" I lied.
"Have I met you before?" I nodded.
"We have english class together," I reminded him. "Oh, right," he said. "The teacher calls you 'Crystal's sister'." he said.
No one knew my real name. And I was fine with that.
There was an awkward silence in between us.
I didn't have much experience with people.
"So...you got into this school, too?" he started.
"Yeah, i wasn't expecting that." I responded.
"Hey, Levi, what are you doing?" another boy shouted.
"Oh, you have company. Go back to sit with your friends," I told him.
He smiled and nodded. "Okay, Kayla. I'm glad i made a friend today!" and he left.
I turned back to the window. A friend. I wasn't expecting that. I didn't have much luck with friends.
Both of my friends left me for the sake of popularity. "Me too," I murmured quietly.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
"We've arrived!" the bus driver at the front of the bus shouted.
Everyone cheered.
I couldn't blame them. It'd been at least 4 hours now.
I had fallen asleep around 5 minutes after I met Levi, so I wasn't sure if I had missed anything in the time.
The students filed out of the bus.
I slid my mask back on and walked out at the end of the line.
The bus driver didn't notice me.
There were around 20 students in our group, and we all went to the principal's office.
The school was huge, not even including the buildings beside the school which I assumed were the dorms.
The principal showed us around the school and gave us keys to our dorm.
Luckily, we didn't have to share dorms.
I went with some other people to our dorms after the principal released us to look around the school.
I unlocked the door and pushed it open.
The space was pretty small. There was a twin sized bed, and the walls had been painted white.
