Hi! I'm thinking of starting this up again! Tell me if you have any thoughts!

Also sorry about the small words and all, I've been writing on Docs as it's easier for me!

Maddy POV

I hit the water with a loud splash, the cold biting at my skin, but the rush was exhilarating. When I resurfaced, gasping for air, Jacob was right beside me, shaking water from his hair like some ridiculous, shirtless hero.

-(Jacob) *laughing* "See? Told you it wasn't so bad!"

-(Me) *sputtering* "Not bad?! I think I swallowed half the ocean!"

Jacob laughed harder, his deep voice bouncing off the cliffs. Sam and Seth were already climbing out, shouting back at us to hurry up.

-(Seth) "Come on, lovebirds!"

-(Me) "Oh my god, will everyone stop saying that?!"

I splashed water at him, my cheeks burning, but Jacob didn't say a word. He just swam closer, offering his hand to help me toward the shore.

-(Jacob) *quietly* "You okay?"

I nodded, avoiding his eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine."

But I wasn't fine. The rush of the jump had faded, replaced by a storm of emotions I didn't know how to handle. Jacob's hand was still on mine as we waded out of the water, and I couldn't decide if I wanted to pull away or never let go.

Back on the beach, Sam was waiting with his signature disapproving look.

-(Sam) "Alright, cub. That was your one jump. Don't even think about pulling a stunt like this when I'm not here."

-(Me) "Relax, I didn't even want to jump in the first place! Jacob made me!"

-(Jacob) "Oh, so now it's my fault?"

-(Me) *grinning* "Obviously."

Sam rolled his eyes, muttering something about "teenagers" before walking off with Seth. As soon as they were out of earshot, Jacob leaned down a little, his tone softer.

-(Jacob) "For real though, you did good. You were brave."

I froze, my breath hitching. His eyes locked with mine, and for a moment, everything else disappeared. But just as quickly, I looked away, brushing it off.

-(Me) "Yeah, well... don't get used to it."

I turned and started walking toward the forest path, not waiting to see if he followed.

Jacob POV

She was impossible. Stubborn, sarcastic, and always trying to brush me off like she didn't care. But I knew she did. I just didn't know how to tell her that I cared too.

I jogged after her, catching up easily.

-(Me) "So, what's next on the reckless Maddy agenda? Cliff diving? Fighting vampires solo? Maybe trying to outrun a werewolf pack?"

-(Maddy) "Oh, shut up."

She shoved me lightly, but I caught her hand, holding it for a second longer than I should have. Her skin was warm despite the cold water. She looked up at me, surprised, and I let go, shoving my hands into my pockets.

-(Me) "Look, I was just kidding. But you really need to stop scaring me like that."

-(Maddy) "Scaring you?" She raised an eyebrow, smirking. "You're a literal werewolf, Jacob. You're supposed to be fearless."
