The Night of Fright

Chapter one: Trapped

"Ughhhhhh", said Madelyn looking at a book, "What's the point in studying if we're going to summer school anyways?".
"I have no idea, but if we study we probably won't fail 8th grade. And, if I fail again my mom's gonna break my PS5. I'll stick with studying.", Kevin said.
"Can you two stop and focus on studying, if you guys are gonna argue go somewhere else.", Grace said irritated.
"Whatever Nerd.", Kevin responded.
Grace rolled her eyes and went to the bookshelf looking through plant books. "Why are you looking through those books? We failed Algebra.", Madelyn asked.
Grace just looked at her then back at the bookshelf and grabbed and book. Kevin stood up, "She asked you a question Dork!", he yelled.
Grace flinched bit and asked nervously, "Cause why not?" 
Kevin rolled his eyes and cursed under his breath.
"Don't be mean Kevin!", Madelyn sounded, almost sympathetic for Grace.
"Why no-"
Kevin was about to finish when Grace interupted.
"He can't stop being mean, he's a jerk."
Grace went to the other side of the library.
"She's so dramatic." Kevin sounded annoyed.
"Maybe she's just sensetive Kev. Don't be so mean, she didn't do anything wrong."
Kevin looked at Madelyn.
"So you're taking the nerds side now? What about the whole five years that we've been friends? Now you're just gonna give it up  for a plant obsessed dork?!"
When he yelled Madelyn got a bit scared and stared at his in shock.
"When is this over? When do we get to leave?", Kevin asked frustrated.
Madelyn looked at the clock.
"About two hours until we can leave."
Before Kevin could ay anything Grace walked back over with a picture book about different types of flowers.
"Wow, reading a picture bok in the seventh grade, real mature.", Kevin said.
Grace ignored him and tried to just read the book and  not think about anything else.
Madelyn looked at Grace then at Kevin.
"Why are you so mean to her Kevin?"
Madelyn sounded annoyed.
"Because! Why Wouldn't I b-"
He got interupted bby the schools lockdown alarm which means someone was in the school that wasn't supposed to be.
They started running looking for somewhere to hide. They came across the basement door and went inside.
Grace turned on the light and looked around.
"Guys, look."
She sounded scared and when Madelyn turned around ans saw what Grace saw she backed up into the wall.
Kevin thought they were pranking him so he turned around.
"What the h*ll."
They all started running up the basement stairs and realized someone closed them in.
They couldn't get out.
They weren't gonna get whoever was in the school to open the door because they didn't know if the tresspasser ad a weapon or anything.
"We're stuck down here aren't we?" Madelyn sounded terrefied
"Yeah, I think so." Grace was really scared but wanted to sound calm for Madelyn.
After three minutes they realized that they were acually stuck. No one was coming to safe them. They didnt even know when they were getting out. Trying to stay calm they all agreed to stay awake sitting at the top of the stairs. They were all thinking the same thing, "There is something seriously wrong with this place."
